About This Competition
On Saturday, August 17, 2019, CrossFit Shatter is hosting its 5th annual SUMMER SLAM, a CrossFit-style competition with the goal of bringing together the CrossFit community and supporting a local organization. This year's beneficiary is South End Children's Cafe in Albany, NY.
We're adding a division in 2019!! New this year - Individuals! Space is limited for Individuals, competing RX only! Teams are two-person same-sex, competing in RX for both Men and Women and Scaled for both Men and Women.
Look forward to 3 WODs plus a Floater, with a final for top RX and Scaled! Prizes will be awarded to first, second and third place finishers for each division.
ABOUT SOUTH END CHILDREN'S CAFE
The mission of the South End Children's Cafe is to impact food insecurity, address food equality and food justice, enhance academic success and positively influence the physical and mental health of children living in and around the South End of Albany, New York by offering free, healthy dinner time meals along with homework help and other enrichment programs.
During the school year, the Cafe is open after school with homework help, academic enrichment and arts and crafts for children in grades k - 4. At 5:00, the children sit together and share a dinner, prepared for by our chef and volunteers. Family members are invited to join the children for dinner.
Children enrolled in the South End Children's Cafe eat a healthy dinner, free of charge, served in a cafe setting. Dinners begins with a salad, followed by a healthy dinner prepared and served by a team of wonderful volunteers. The children talk, laugh and learn about healthy foods at the Cafe, and partnerships with local agencies and donations of food, time and talent make the delicious dinners at the South End Children's Cafe a success!

CrossFit Shatter will be running a food drive, collecting non-perishable food donations during June and July. 10% of Summer Slam registrations will go to South End Children's Cafe as an additional monetary donation to aid their efforts.

2b = Time. If you do not complete Double Isabel in 5 minutes, there will be a one second penalty added for every rep not complete.
