About This Competition

Sept. 12th
Starting Friday the 8th, we’ll be launching a Throwdown Workout Series leading up to Babes with Barbells! The goal is to have some fun competing during Friday’s daily WOD and to help the girls feel more prepared for the event. If you’ve ever seen Training Think Tank’s throwdown videos, this is based on that style.
Each workout will include both RX and scaled versions (if needed) and will share a common leaderboard (with a penalty applied for scaled scores). If the scaled version is still out of reach for you, reach out and I’ll help create a version and score that works for you. In theory, you could complete 4 workouts RX and 1 scaled and still win. RX workouts will also have a minimum work requirement, so one rep of RX won’t automatically beat a full scaled workout.
The workouts will be self-judged and self-reported on the honor system, so they won’t interfere with class times. You can complete the WOD during Friday’s class or during open gym time on Saturday and Sunday. Scores may not be submitted until Friday at 5:00 a.m. and must be submitted by Sunday at 11:00 p.m. each week.
We’ve never done anything quite like this before, so if you’re coming on Fridays anyway, might as well give it a shot! If you are not coming on Friday’s this will be a great time to start.
If you're interested, fill out the form at this link and I’ll add your name to the leaderboard ASAP. Have questions? Message me and I’ll do my best to answer.

When entering total reps count all row rounds as 12 calories even if you are a male who did 15 each round. This will make it even for male vs female scores. For example:
8 Rounds of 15/12 Calories & 12 Burpees is considered as:
(8*12) + (8*12) =192 reps even if you are a male who did 15 each time.
If you got a partial amount of calories on your final round such as 11 out of 15 calories, just count the number of calories up to 12. This provides a slight advantage to males, but I believe this will be a rarer occurance and shouldn't effect scoring too much. I didn't realize the scoring was only reps based and not rounds based and didn't account for that on a mixed sex leaderboard, so, second oops of the throwdown series complete.
Record total number of Overhead Squats (rx) or squat cleans (scaled).
