Calling all Masters Athletes!

Welcome to the Third Annual CrossFit 1827 Masters Throwdown! Offering both Rx and Scaled divisions this competition is for both new and experienced athletes to test their skills. Enjoy great programming, swag bags and shirts with every ticket purchase, and prizes for our top finishers.

WOD Standards:

Deadlifts: (225/155 for 35-44 Rx)(205/135 for 45+ Rx)(155/105 for 35-44 scaled)(135/95 for 45+ scaled) No bouncing of the deadlifts. Knees must be locked out, shoulders behind the bar at the top for the rep to count. Dropping of the bar is allowed. Conventional deadlift only (hands outside legs)

HSPU: Hands must remain in pre-tapped box (2x3ft box on floor), fingers can cross the tape lines. Both heels must be in control against the wall at the top of the rep, with elbows and hips locked out, only the heels may be touching the wall at the top of the rep. A rep starts with lock out at top of HSPU, head goes to mat and then finishes in lock out at top. Reps cannot start at the bottom of HSPU with their head on the mat. 

HRPU: Snaking is allowed, chest must touch ground at bottom with hands off the ground. Full lockout of elbows and knees at top of push up.

Pistols: Must alternate left and right leg. Athletes can hold the opposite leg. The opposite leg must not touch the ground, if it does it is a no rep and the athlete must complete a good rep on that leg before going to the other. Athletes must have opposite leg off ground until full standing and in control, if the athlete is falling over at the top of the rep, or hopping around, they must gain control before placing the other leg down for the rep to count. 

C2B: Athletes chest must make contact on the bar, below the collar bones, close does not count. 

Pull ups: Athlete cannot switch between pull ups and ring rows. Must declare at the start of the WOD which one they are doing. Chin must break the plane of the bar at top and full extension of the arms is required at the bottom for the rep to start. Any grip is allowed. 

Ring rows: Athletes legs must be straight at all times and some part of both feet in contact with yellow line under rings throughout the whole rep. Athletes hands, thumbs, or the rings must come in contact with the athlete's body for the rep to count. 

 

EVENT #2 - 8min Time Cap

1RM Clean + 1 Hang Clean (full or power)

1RM Bench Bress

They are equal pound for pound in the scoring


4 minute warm up then
4 minutes to perform THREE attempts

WOD Standards:

Clean: This rep must begin from the floor and continue without pause to the shoulders. The athlete cannot deadlift the bar and begin the clean from a hang position. Athletes elbows must past the front plane of the bar and be fully standing before dropping the bar to the hang for the second movement. 

Hang Clean: Athlete must catch the bar from the first rep and it cannot touch the ground at any point once the lift begins or they have to start over and it counts at 1 of 3 attempts. The hang can begin from any position as long as the bar doesn’t touch the ground, ie floating clean, from the knees, high hang, is all allowed. 

Bench Press: Butt and shoulders must touch the bench throughout the whole lift. Arching the back is allowed. Barbell must touch chest and then fully lock out of elbows without spotters assistance. Feet must remain in contact with the floor throughout the lift, but plates may be used under the athletes feet to act as the ‘floor’.

WOD Standards:

Assault bike calories: Monitor should be reset by volunteer between each set so calories being from zero. Athletes can adjust the Assault bike to their set up before WOD begins.

Burpee DB box step overs: Each rep is completed with 2 DBs. Athletes hands must remain on DBs throughout the burpee. The chest must touch DB’s and thighs on ground at bottom of the burpee which is the start of the rep. The athlete must carry the 2 DBs over the box, with both feet touching the top of the box. The rep is credited when both feet touch the ground on the other side of the box, with both DBs in hand. The athlete does not have to stand all the way up when crossing the box.
