Go the [social] distance by completing an epic MVMNT challenge
Typically during this time of the year, we host our bi-annual MVNG Day, where members throwdown on 6 unique workouts, consecutively, testing their strength, speed, power, and stamina. We record the data and use it as a baseline to gauge your fitness improvement over time.
Well, COVID has other plans.
So, as we’ve become accustomed to, we are pivoting and have created the Confined GRIND - an endurance test composed of 3 miles of running and 300 reps of various movements. Using either bodyweight or weighted exercises, you’ll move through the entire workout, and once completed, log your score on a live digital leaderboard.
Oh and know that awesome swag we sent you? We’d love if you’d rock it while hitting this workout and snap a triumphant selfie after completing it to show the world you’ve decided to KEEP MVNG!
While we strongly advocate for social distancing anytime you’re performing fitness outside, we know that it’s likely you may want to perform this with someone else for accountability. So this event will be completely open to the public and anyone can register.
But for real - push each other and workout alongside those who motivate you, just make sure you’re six-feet apart.
Excited? We sure as hell are. Now here are the finer details:
WHEN:
You’ll have 24 hours to complete the Confined GRIND starting at 12:00am on Saturday, May 9th, and concluding at 11:59 pm that same evening. All leaderboard entries must be entered prior to 11:59 pm on Saturday.
WHAT:
We have created two categories: bodyweight only (BW) + weighted (WT). There is no time limit and you must complete the workout in the exact order it is written. Your running routes are at your discretion, but you must document them on a GPS enabled app and upload screenshots of your run route, total distance and time to the digital leaderboard.
Can’t run? Walk. Don’t want to walk? Perform 50 plank jacks in lieu of the one-mile run.

WHERE:
Anywhere - that’s the beauty of this event! We hope to see running routes that stretch all over the Queen City and perhaps you’ll even pass another really sweaty person rocking a fresh KEEP MVNG shirt (give em’ an air fist bump).
Remember, Your running routes are solely at your discretion, but you must document them on a GPS enabled app and upload screenshots of your run route, total distance and time to the digital leaderboard.
HOW:
During the 24 hour event window, hit this workout anytime that fits your schedule.
While we are requiring proof of your runs, the movement reps are completely on the honor system.
Once completed, login to our digital leaderboard, create an account and enter your score and the screenshot of your SLOWEST run under the appropriate workout category (BW or WT)
The scoreboard is live and keeps accurate rankings as new times are entered, so make sure to check back throughout the day and send daps to your friends as they complete the workout.
The entire Urban MVMNT staff will be participating alongside (apart) with you. We miss seeing all of you and can’t wait till we can see you moving in person, but until then we hope this event brings you a sweaty smile knowing the rest of your Urban MVMNT fam is MVNG with you.
