About This Competition

Welcome to Big Orange Brawl LIFT-A-THON!


Have you ever wanted to sign up for a competition but didn't because of some high skill movements? Or maybe you're not a fan of cardio! Or you just LOVE to lift weights! No matter the reason you are here we are glad you are and welcome you to our first ever Big Orange Brawl Lift-a-thon!


The Big Orange Brawl LIFT-A-THON will take place online - you can do this at your local CrossFit box, gym or even in your garage anywhere around the world! See how you stack up in your weight class across 12 different barbell lifts in a 3 week span!


The lifting begins on January 4th!


Ca$h prizes for the winners of EACH weight class!

Workouts

Establish a 1 rep max Back Squat

Establish a 1 rep max bench press

Establish a 1 rep max Clean and Jerk


Standards:

  • Any variation of the clean and jerk will count.
  • For jerk variations feet must finish stacked underneath the hips and athlete must show full control with barbell before dropping or finishing the lift.

Establish a 1 Rep Max Deadlift

Establish a 1 rep max Front Squat


Standards:

  • Out of the rack or from the floor
  • Hip crease below the knee- elbows may not touch the knees at the bottom
  • Full extension of hips and knees must be shown

Standards:

  • Hang Position will be anywhere above the knee to start the rep
  • Clean must be caught above parallel which means hip crease above the knee (power clean).

Establish a 1 rep max Overhead Squat


Standards:

  • Out of rack- any variation to get barbell overhead is allowed. From the floor is also allowed
  • Hip crease below knee and full extension of hips and knees at the top
  • Elbows are allowed to slightly bend --bar may not make contact with your head for rep to count

Establish a 1 rep max Push Press


Standards:

  • This is a push press-- a re-dip under the bar is not allowed
  • Bar can be taken from the floor or from the rack
  • full extension of elbows and fully opened shoulders at the top of the rep

Establish a 1 rep max Snatch

Standards:

  • Bar must start from the floor since this is a squat clean thruster
  • Thruster jerks are not allowed-- once you stand up from the squat it must be a press with no re dip.
  • No pause is allowed after the squat- the movement must flow as one fluid strung together rep.

Establish a 1 rep max Strict Press


Standards:

  • Can be from the rack or from the floor --no assistance from legs are allowed, no dip or re drip from the lower half
  • Full extension of elbows and open shoulders at the top of the rep

Standards:

  • Score will be heaviest turkish get up done with both arms-- you must show execution of the lift from both sides, not just one.
  • This will only be the Turkish Get up. Once you've stood up the lift is complete you do not have to come back down.
  • The non working hand may not touch the bar at any point of the lift.
