CFE Intramural Open 2024
About This Competition
If you haven't seen my fantastic video explaining what the Open is, you can catch it right here!
Prepare for an exciting fitness journey! Join teams of 6-10 individuals for the ultimate fitness challenge. Upon registration, you can choose between the RX or scaled.
- Opt for "RX" if your usual workout level falls within the purple or higher range.
- Opt for "Scaled" if your usual workout level falls within the orange or lower range.
- If you are usually blue level and you have kipping pull-ups and double unders pick "RX". If you are blue but you DO NOT have kipping pull-ups or double unders pick "Scaled".
Here's a breakdown of the point system:
- Earn 1 point by simply "checking in" to class (February 26th- March 15th). Additionally, signing up for a heat time on Fridays is considered a "check in" (You will book a heat time on chalk it pro). Max is 7 points for the week. Two-a-days do not count.
- Engage in weekly team challenges within the gym to unlock extra points. The specifics of the challenges remain a mystery.
- Join the battleground of Open workouts where every point counts. Scores must be submitted by noon the following Monday, without exceptions. No redo opportunities.
Missed a session? No problem! Make-up workouts are available on Saturday, Sunday, or Monday (before noon). *No make up times on week 3. The open ends Friday night!
You will sign up individually (Nichole will create teams), putting forth your best efforts as team points collide in a grand finale to determine the ultimate champions. Get ready to redefine your limits and dominate the leaderboard – this isn't just a competition; it's an epic fitness saga! 🏋️♂️💪🔥

March 1st: 5:30 pm onwards
March 8th: 5:30 pm onwards
March 15th: 5:30 pm onwards
Keep an eye out for workout releases every Thursday and weekly challenges released every Sunday. Remember, there are no redo opportunities, so give it your all the first time! It's your chance to shine and leave it all on the floor.

Challenge: Pump-N-Row
Objective: Achieve maximum meters rowed in 2 minutes followed by a rest of 30 seconds. Then, complete the maximum number of bench press repetitions with an empty barbell (Women 35lb, Men 45lb)
Scoring: Your score is the sum of the total meters rowed and the total bench press repetitions.
Deadline: You have until Sunday, the 3rd, to complete this challenge. One attempt only.
Note: During bench press, you cannot rest for longer than one "mississippi."
Record all your class "check-ins" from March 4th- March 10th.
Challenge: Cliffhanger
Objective: Hang on the pull-up bar for as long as possible. Every second counts. Score is total time hanging (in seconds). You can hold the bar however you want and regrip as needed. As soon as your feet hit the ground, you are done. No grips allowed.
Deadline: You have until Sunday, the 10th, to complete this challenge. One attempt only.
Record all your class "check-ins" from March 11th-15th.
Welcome to the Sandbag Toss Challenge!
Objective:
Your task is to earn as many points as possible within 2 minutes by tossing corn hole bags into the designated hole at various distances.
Rules:
1. You will have 2 minutes to complete the challenge.
2. Use corn hole bags to toss into the designated hole.
3. Different distances will be marked, with varying points assigned based on the distance.
4. You must retrieve your own sandbags; no assistance is allowed.
5. Each participant will have 4 bags to toss.
6. The scoring is as follows:
- Closest hole: 1 point
- Intermediate distance: 3 points
- Farthest distance: 5 points
Instructions:
1. Stand behind the designated throwing line.
2. On the signal, begin tossing your bags into the holes.
3. Aim carefully to maximize your points.
4. Retrieve your own bags between throws.
5. At the end of 2 minutes, tally up your points.
