About This Competition
On Friday 3rd April sees the start of THE ISOLATION GAMES! This is an online competition that you can do from the comfort of your own home whilst in lockdown. The aim of this fun competition is to keep you active, connect with others in our community, keep yourself and someone else active at this time and to bring some structure to your home training!
This competition is a VIRTUAL DOUBLES competition, open to mixed pairs. You do not have to compete at the same time, or live in the same home as your team mate. All you have to do is pick a friend, family member, lover or colleague of the opposite sex that you want to be your team mate, and you will both need to complete the workout in the given timeframe. Your total = your combined scores. It's a great way to keep yourself motivated and to encourage others to keep active whilst in isolation!
THE GAMES
All workouts will be bodyweight. This competition is FREE to enter. We are trusting you to submit honest scores, and follow the correct form guidelines.
We would love if you could film your workout and post it across your social platforms and tag us on Instagram @theplantbasedgames and ##theisolationgames #theplantbasedgames so we can see the work you're putting in. Be sure to join our Facebook group 'The Active Vegans' where we will be sharing lots of fitness tips, recipes, nutritional help and ideas on how you can stay fit and active throughout lockdown!

VIRTUAL DUO - APRIL Workout Release Dates - PHASE 1
- WORKOUT 1 - Friday 3rd April SUBMIT Wednesday 8th April
- WORKOUT 2 - Friday 10th April SUBMIT Wednesday 15th April
- WORKOUT 3 - Friday 17th April SUBMIT Wednesday 22nd April
- WORKOUT 4 - Friday 24th April SUBMIT Wednesday 29th April
Once all 4 workouts in phase 1 are completed we will then announce the winning team! Once phase 1 is complete, we will be continuing the competition into May for phase 2! The winners from each phase will receive a complimentary place to compete in our big summer competition LONDON UTOPIA 2020!!
We really hope this will bring some energy to your training whilst in lockdown and keep us all virtually connected! Be sure to find the fun in these workouts and if you don't already be sure to follow our instagram @theplantbasedgames and keep sharing your training videos with us!
We also ask that you take care of yourself at this time. If you feel unwell, please refrain from taking part in the games and similar workouts. Listen to you body and don't overdo it.

So you need to complete 21 reps of each exercise, 15 of each, 9 of each, 15 of each and finish with 21 of each.

EMOM
20 Lateral Shoot Throughs + 2 Squat Jumps
Increase Squat jumps by 2 each round until you can't complete within the minute.
Score = Total Reps.
Please find details below on the scoring system, please read thoroughly.
Round 1 = 22 reps
Round 2 = 24 reps
Round 3 = 26 reps
Round 4 = 28 reps
Round 5 = 30 reps
Round 6 = 32 reps
Round 7 = 34 reps
Round 8 = 36 reps
Round 9 = 38 reps
Round 10 = 40 reps
Round 11 = 42 reps
Round 12 = 44 reps
etc.
Scoring Example:
Say you complete Round 4, start round 5 but can only complete 20 lateral shoot throughs + 1 squat jump (21 reps from round 5), in order to then work out your total amount of reps you would add together the total reps from Rounds 1, 2, 3 and 4 + the total reps completed from round 5 (21).
22 + 24 + 26 + 28 + 21 = 71 reps
Total score = 121.
And remember your teams TOTAL SCORES is yours and your team mates score COMBINED.
For time:
Buy in - 30 Down Ups
80 Hand-release Push Ups (option to do from knees but it must be DOUBLE the reps = 160)
80 V Ups
80 Reverse Lunges
Buy out - 30 Down Ups

Please watch the movement standards video which is attached here! To make this competition as far as possible we want to make sure all teams are following the guidelines we set.
This workout MUST be performed with your partner at the SAME TIME. If you do not live with your partner then complete this workout together via Facetime, a Whatsapp video call, Zoom, etc. OR rather than doing it behind closed doors we would LOVE if you both completed the workout together LIVE on Instagram on a split screen, as a way of creating hype around the challenge and using it as a way of pushing yourselves that little bit harder!
TIME CAP: 10 minutes
To complete the below between you in a you go, I go format:
100 butterfly sit ups
80 speed sprawls
60 military plank
40 tricep dips
20 maneaters
Teams can split up reps as they wish. Teams must complete the total reps of each exercise before moving onto the next exercise.
Once complete, with the remaining time you will both perform as many hand release burpees as you can. You can perform these at the same time (not synchro!) and both work up as many reps as you can.
Teams score = partner A and Partner B’s total reps of burpees combined.
*Please make sure you watch the Movement Standard videos on our instagram page @theplantbasedgames before taking on the workout. Although going fast is great, please make sure you have watched and fully read the movement standards so scores are fair and accurate.We advise you to practice the movements BEFORE you start your timer, and if you have any questions to message to double check anything you're unsure of.
