About This Competition

We are BACK for year 3, the biggest and best year yet!

Amoskeag Fitness Co. is excited to bring you the 2023 Amoskeag Classic, a 2-day individual event for all levels with cash prizes for all podium finishers in all divisions. The Amoskeag Classic is for anyone who didn’t qualify for the CrossFit Games Semifinals, as an individual or on a team, but wants to step their game up and feel what it’s like to compete on a bigger stage.

New this year, there are now 5 divisions: RX, Intermediate, and Scaled, and now RX Masters 40+ and Masters 40+ for both Male and Female athletes. Divisions for the RX, Intermediate and Scaled will remain at 14 athletes and the new Masters 40+ divisions will only include 7 athletes per division, so DO NOT WAIT as we expect a sell out in all divisions. Two days of events for all divisions using multiple indoor and outdoor spaces and possible off site event(s).

STANDARDS*

*Sorry, 2023 Semifinalists! If you qualified for a CrossFit Games Semifinal event in 2023, Individual OR Team, this competition is not for you. Semifinalists from years past that did NOT qualify in 2023 will be allowed to compete in the RX division.

  • RX: Top 10,000 or higher in the WORLDWIDE CrossFit Open Individual Division, and/or Masters 40+ Age Group Semifinalists. RX athletes should have proficiency in higher-skill movements such as Muscle Ups (both variations), HS Walking, HSPU (all variations), Double Unders, all rig movements, and full squat variations of the Olympic lifts for repetitions and maximal load.
  • Intermediate: Outside the Top 10,000 in the WORLDWIDE CrossFit Open, though could perform each Open workout as prescribed. Intermediate athletes are working towards proficiency in higher-skill movements but are proficient in movements such as Muscle Ups (bar variation), kipping HSPU, Double Unders, Chest to Bar Pull-Ups, Toes to Bar, as well as working on proficiency in full squat variations of the Olympic lifts.
  • Scaled: Performed the CrossFit Open workouts scaled, and regularly scale class workouts in your affiliate. Scaled Masters athletes are encouraged in this division. Scaled athletes working towards building skills in movements such as Pull-Ups and Toes to Bar, but are able to perform basic skill movements such as Banded Pull-Ups, Push-Ups, Wall Walks, Single Unders, and are able to perform power variations of the Olympic lifts for repetitions and maximal load.
  • RX Masters 40+: 85th percentile or higher in your Masters Age Group in the WORLDWIDE CrossFit Open. RX Masters 40+ athletes should have proficiency in higher-skill movements such as Muscle Ups (bar variation), HS Walking in short segments, HSPU (all variations), Double Unders, all rig movements, and full squat variations of the Olympic lifts for repetitions and maximal load.
  • Masters 40+: Below the 85th percentile in your Masters Age Group in the WORLDWIDE CrossFit Open, but performed most Open tests as RX. Masters 40+ athletes are working towards proficiency in higher-skill movements but are proficient in movements such as kipping Pull-Ups (all variation), lower volume kipping HSPU, Single Unders and some Double Unders, Toes to Bar, as well as working on proficiency in full squat variations of the Olympic lifts.

**Any athlete may register in any division higher than their CrossFit Open rankings if they so choose (Example: 11,000 worldwide may register in RX). Masters athletes are also allowed to register in RX, Intermediate, or Scaled as long as they do not exceed the division standards.
