About This Competition

We are excited to be hosting our first event in Scotland at the Scottish National Performance Centre for Sport - Oriam.

We will be bringing all the buzz and excitement of the Turf Games for the weekend - great atmosphere, great community and the perfect amphitheatre to test your fitness and have fun with your friends.

The competition will take place on Saturday 2nd October, 9am until 6pm and will be a Mixed Team event - 5 athletes.

Teams will be comprised of 3 males and 2 females (ideally), or can be 3 females and 2 males. Teams competing in the 'Open' Category must be 3M/2F.

There will be two divisions - 

  1. OPEN/ELITE - for the more serious competitor and team who want to express their athleticism against the best and win a place on the TURF at our Dubai event on November 4/5th.
  2. EVERYDAY - for those who want to be involved but want slightly less intensity than the OPEN division - the Everyday category is for you

WORKOUTS

Teams will compete in a series of 4 workouts over the day. The workouts will be programmed in such a way that tactics will prevail over all else - how well does your team work together to communicate and execute the workout? The top 4 teams in each division will qualify for the winner takes all final to be crowned the Edinburgh City Series CHAMPS.

TIMINGS 

Athlete check-in will open at 8.05am. Round 1, heat 1 will be at 920am. Teams workout times will be released a week before the event. We ask that teams, aside from those in the first heat, arrive no earlier than 75 minutes before there start time. This will help out with distancing and reduce wait times at the check in counter. All heats will be finished by 4.30pm with Elite Final at 5.10pm

1RM of the following TURF barbell complex;

1 Deadlift + 2 Hang Cleans + 2 Front Squats + 1 STOH

AT THE BAR - PART B

10-11min rest and set up bar

11-14 min @ barbell 60kg male / 35kg female

4 Rounds - 2 athletes synchro

12 deadlifts

8 hang cleans

  • 1 km ski + 2 km bike (simultaneously)*
  • 1km Trail run

*2 athletes must run after 500m and 1km have both been met on the ski and bike respectively. Once the full distance is met, the other 3 athletes must run.

  • 1 km ski + 2 km bike*
  • 1km Trail run

*All athletes must run once the 1km ski and 2km bike distances are met, then

  • 60 cals ski + 60 cals bike

*4 athletes go in 1M/1F pairs on the 3 movements, 1 male athletes does all the work by themselves
