Koda Means Family Open 2023
About This Competition
The 2023 Koda Means Family Open is HERE.
We have have 6 champions this year- an RX champion (Dads and Moms), a Scaled champion (Dads and Moms), as well as Kids Champions (6-9 and 10-13).
You will have to declare what division you are participating in during registration and will not be able to change divisions once the Open has started.
Workouts will be released on Thursdays in conjunction with the weekly OPEN announcements. There will be 3 weeks of workouts this year. Participants will have until Monday evening of the following week to enter their scores.
I’m going to outline a few rules/information of the Koda Means Family OPEN.
1. Honor system. Since “integrity” is one of the core values of our gym, it goes without saying that cheating will not be tolerated! You must have a participant of the Koda Means Family OPEN to judge your workout. If that is not possible, a KXN coach/manager is acceptable.
2. It is NOT a requirement to sign up for the actual Open, nor the Koda Open.
3. You will need to log your own scores FOR EACH WORKOUT.
4. Scoring. You will be given a score based on your performance amongst the other “Dad” or “mom” participants. For example: if there are 40 “Koda Means Family OPEN” participants and Charles Baker gets 1st place in a workout, he will be given a score of “1” for that workout. The participant with the lowest score after 3 weeks will be crowned Champion.
5. Dad/Mom/Kid Throwdown. TBA- but we are looking at 23.3. More info to come on that!
100% of the proceeds will be donated to the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Norman.

TIEBREAK
The time should be recorded after the completion of each
set of snatches.
If the athlete completes the test before the time cap,
there will be no tiebreaker.
If the athlete does not complete the test before the time
cap, when they log their score they will enter the total
number of reps they completed as well as the time at
which they completed their last full set of snatches.
In the case of a tie (i.e., athletes complete the same
number of reps), the athlete with the lower tiebreak time
will be ranked higher.
