Battle Beyond The Barbell 2025
About This Competition
We are excited to host the 13th Annual Battle Beyond the Barbell in support of the Janis Foligno Foundation. This annual Functional Fitness Competition combines inclusive and fun events that test the fitness of the weekend warrior and the dedicated athlete alike.
This year we will host 16 teams of 2 males/2 females as they battle for the top of the podium and raise awareness and money for the Janis Foligno Foundation!
The event has a DJ, photographer, BBQ, and prizes (including some sweet swag for each of the participants)

Workouts
Carry Medley:
30ft graduated carries, for time (2 Minute CAP):
30ft Sled Push (Sled & Weight TBD)
30ft Farmers Carry (2x130/2x90)
30ft Sandbag carry (150/100)
30ft Inukshuk carry (185/150)
1 Male and 1 Female will start at the same time, but be timed separately.
FLOW:
Push the Sled out past the line, Turn and Pick up the Farmers and carry them past the line, Turn and pick up the sandbag and carry it in a bearhug position past the line, turn and pick up the inukshuk and carry it past the line. Time ends when you pass the final line with the Inukshuk, OR when you are Time capped, your progress will be marked off.
2 Minutes will then be used to reset the items.
Then the other Male and Female will start and also be timed separately.
Score is teams cumulative time. Time CAP 2 Minutes for each heat
25 Minute AMRAP:
10 Power Cleans (125/83) - 1M, 1F synchro
10 synchro wall balls - All 4 members synchro*
All 4 members Run 400m carrying a wall ball
*using 4 wall balls which may be distributed as desired among members (30, 20, 14, 10) ALL to the 9 ft target (Above the red line), and carried however they want, each person carrying 1 med ball.
SCORE is rounds + reps, with the 400m Run being split up into 10m increments.

21-15-9 for time of:
Synchro Plate G2OH (45/35)
Synchro Burpee onto plate
In 10 Minutes:
1 Male and 1 Female will find a 1 Rep Max Front Squat
Only 1 person lifting at a time, though either can be loading their barbells while the other lifts.
Lift must be confirmed with judge prior to being initiated.
In 10 Minutes:
1M and 1F will find a 1RM Jerk (any style)
Barbell may come from the rig, and may be returned to the rig with help from other teammates (if it’s dropped on the ground)
