About This Competition

Welcome to VETWOD + GORUCK I!
What:
An online ruck event sponsored by GORUCK to benefit VETWOD’s programs for veterans and first responders that includes gym memberships, gym equipment, event registrations, crisis financial assistance, etc.
Where:
Anywhere. Seriously, anywhere. All you need is a pack, a road or a trail.
Why:
Rucking is a great way for our military and first responders to train to stay fit for duty. Due to the nature of their jobs, walking with a heavy load helps to build strength, endurance and character. Rucking for a cause is also a great way to honor and remember those who have served our nation in any capacity - at home or abroad, and it also promotes a strong community. All the proceeds from this initiative will fund VETWOD programs, as we seek to help our veterans and first responders who deal with transitioning from active to civilian life, depression, financial hardship, PTSD, and suicide. When:
March 2nd-8th, 2020.
How-to:
- Sign up and ruck at least 1 time during the week of the event. Suggested distance is 2-5 miles at one time and suggested ruck weight is 20lbs for females and 30lbs for males.
- Make an instagram post (Tagging @VETWOD, @GORUCK, #vetwodruck).
Registering, rucking and making a post with tags =1 entry.
Rucking a 2nd time with a post/tags = an extra entry.
Rucking a 3rd time with a post/tags = an extra entry.
*No more than 3 possible entries
**In addition to logging their ruck on social media, participants must log their rucks on the leaderboard. This includes, participants 2nd and/or 3rd rucks. Additional rucks must be logged on social media and on the leaderboard to count as entries.
Prizes:
3 prizes for males, 3 prizes for females.
Random draw:
-1 GO RUCK 20L Rucker for a male
-1 GO RUCK 20L Rucker for a female
-4 prize packages from various sponsors (2 for males/2 for females - more details to be announced)
*Every participant gets a GO RUCK patch
