About This Competition
The Playdate Pairs competition hosted by CrossFit Play is returning in 2024, and it's going to be bigger and better than ever!
This August, Playdate will feature four divisions: RX M/M, F/F, M/F, and a new Elite mixed M/F pair category. It's an inclusive event, welcoming all CrossFit and fitness fans who want to take on a new challenge, have fun, and share their passion for fitness.
This year, first-place winners in each division will receive a cash prize, and teams that make it to the podium will get prize packs.Athletes will compete in four workouts with six scored events to ensure a fair test of fitness. The top 6 teams in each division will also get to compete in a final elimination workout. Workouts will be held both indoors at CrossFit Play and outdoors at Camperdown Oval.
The workouts will be revealed throughout July, so stay tuned! If you have questions about each division and movement standards, check out the details below:
RX/Open Division
Movements include:
- Pull-ups
- Toes to bar
- Walking lunges
- Shoulder to overhead
- Barbell cleans for load
- Deadball clean + squats
- Running
- Bike, row
Elite Division includes all RX movements plus:
- Bar muscle-ups
- Handstand push-ups
- Handstand walks
- Rope climbs
- Heavier barbell and deadball/sandbag
Plus, there will be a live DJ on-site to keep athletes and spectators pumped up, alongside food trucks and merchandise vendors.

Please note that parking at the gym will be limited, but there is plenty of all-day street parking nearby. For those using public transport, CrossFit Play is just 200m from Parramatta Road, making it easy to catch a bus.

The 60m carry is divided into 4 x 15m sections for 4 reps.
The bag is carried on the shoulder and can be changed at any time. A rep is credited at the passing of the cone or when the ball is returned to the mat.
Cleans and squats can be shared in any manner.
All reps must be completed on the working mat.
Only one athlete is allowed on the working mat at any time.
The run counts for 2 reps (1 rep per athlete for the full distance).
No reps are counted for Part A prior to the commencement of this part of the workout.
