3 Regular Workouts + 1 Floater Event

Top 4 Teams in each division will make it to the Final event

Scaled (Must not have placed in Top 400 in any open for all athletes)

Workout Description  

The competition will consist of 3 workouts plus 1 floater. The events will be announced prior to the competition. On August 18th, Male partners will be randomly assigned to be either Male partner 1 or Male partner 2 (M1 and M2). The Women will also be randomly assigned to be Female partner 1 or Female partner 2 (F1 and F2). For each of the workouts, whichever partner number you were randomly assigned, you will have a specific role in each event which will be clearly defined and cannot be transferred/interchanged to another partner. Teams will need to be comprised of the most well-rounded individuals in order to podium.



Firewall Frenzy 2018 Workouts

Event #1

“Beauty and The Beast”

Snatch (Female 1 / Male 1)

Female 1: Establish Max Weight in 6 minutes

Male 1: AMRAP 2: Max reps with female Final Weight

Clean and Jerk (Female 2 / Male 2)

Female 2: Max weight

Male 2: AMRAP 2: Max reps with female Final Weight


Event Flow:

The event will have an 8-minute running clock. Females 1 and 2 will be given the first 6 minutes to find their 1RM in their prescribed lift. Immediately following the 6-minute window, Males 1 and 2 will then receive the final 2-minutes to perform max reps with their paired females final weight. 2 barbells will be allowed per team. 1-35lb bar for the snatch and 1- 45lb bar for the clean and jerk. The Snatch may be performed in a squat, power or split variation. The Clean portion may be performed in a squat, power or split variation. The jerk portion may be performed in a strict, push, or split variation. All movements must establish control.   

Event Scoring:

Score 1: Female 1 and Female 2 total combined weight

Score 2: Male 1 and Male 2 total combined weight lifted*


*Overall placing for the males in Event 1 will directly correlate with the weight on the bar multiplied by the number of reps performed. For example, Female 1 finishes with a 100lb snatch. Male 1 proceeds to perform 30 total reps with that 100lb barbell within his allotted 2 minutes. Male 1 will have achieved lifting 3,000 total pounds (100lbs x 30 reps).  Simultaneously within the 6-minute window, Female 2 finishes with a 200lb clean and jerk. Male 2 performs 10 clean and jerks with that 200lb barbell within his allotted 2 minutes. Male 2 will have achieved lifting 2,000 total pounds (200lbs x 10 reps). Females 1 and 2 will have a combined score of 300lbs while Males 1 and 2 will have a combined score of 5,000lbs.

“Mount Up”

For Time and Reps (Rx Division):

12 minute cap

M1 / F2: Run 400m (Together)

M2: 30 Calorie Assault Bike F1: Max Bar Muscle ups

M2 / F1: Run 400m (Together)

M1: 30 Calorie Assault Bike F2: Max Bar Muscle ups

M1 / F2: Run 400m (Together)

F1: 20 Calorie Assault Bike M2: Max Bar Muscle ups

M2 / F1: Run 400m (Together)

F2: 20 Calorie Assault Bike M1: Max Bar Muscle ups


For Time and Reps (Scaled Division):

M1 / F2: Run 400m (Together)

M2: 25 Calorie Assault Bike F1: Max Pull-ups

M2 / F1: Run 400m (Together)

M1: 25 Calorie Assault Bike F2: Max Pull-ups

M1 / F2: Run 400m (Together)

F1: 15 Calorie Assault Bike M2: Max Pull-ups

Event Scoring:

Score 1: Total time to complete the workout

Score 2: Total number of Bar Muscle ups / Pull-ups



Event Flow for Event 2:

Male 1 (M1) and Female 2(F2) will be a pair, while Male 2(M2) and Female 1 (F1) will be a pair.

To start the workout, Male 1 (M1) and Female 2(F2) will leave for a 400m run. In the meantime, Male 2(M2) will be completing a 30/25-calorie assault bike. Once the 30/25-calorie assault bike is complete, Female 1 (F1) will perform as many bar muscle ups/pull-ups as possible until the return of both Male 1 (M1) and Female 2(F2) from their 400m run. When Male 1 (M1) and Female 2(F2) return, Female 1 (F1) must stop performing bar muscle ups/pull-ups and the pairs will switch roles.

Now, Male 2(M2) and Female 1 (F1) will leave for a 400m run. In the meantime, Male 1(M1) will be completing a 30/25-calorie assault bike. Once the 30/25-calorie assault bike is complete, Female 2 (F2) will perform as many bar muscle ups/pull-ups as possible until the return of both Male 2 (M2) and Female 1(F1) from their 400m run. When Male 2(M2) and Female 1(F1) return, Female 2 (F2) must stop performing bar muscle ups/pull-ups and the pairs will switch roles once again.

Continuing on, Male 1 (M1) and Female 2(F2) will leave for their second 400m run. In the meantime, Female 1 (F1) will now be completing a 20/15-calorie assault bike. Once the 20/15-calorie assault bike is complete, Male 2(M2) will perform as many bar muscle ups/pull-ups as possible until the return of both Male 1 (M1) and Female 2(F2) from their 400m run. When Male 1 (M1) and Female 2(F2) return, Male 2(M2) must stop performing bar muscle ups/pull-ups and the pairs will switch roles.

Finishing, Male 2(M2) and Female 1 (F1) will leave for the last 400m run. In the meantime, Female 2 (F2) will be completing a 20/15-calorie assault bike. Once the 20/15-calorie assault bike is complete, Male 1 (M1) will perform as many bar muscle ups/pull-ups as possible until the return of both Male 2 (M2) and Female 1(F1) from their 400m run. When Male 2(M2) and Female 1(F1) return, Male 1 (M1) must stop performing bar muscle ups/pull-ups and the workout is complete.

**Pairs, M1 / F2 & M2 / F1, may not switch roles until both runners have returned from their 400m run**

SCALED DIVISION ONLY: If pull-ups are unable to be performed, Ring rows will be allowed:

1 pull-up = 5 points

1 Ring Row = 1 point




Event #3

 Males 1 and 2 will be paired and Females 1 and 2 will be paired

Event Scoring:

Score 1: Total amount of Calories completed by both pairs (M1 M2 + F1 F2)

Score 2: Total Rounds + Repetitions completed between both pairs (M1 M2 + F1 F2)

Event Flow:

From 0:00-5:00 minutes: Males 1 and 2 will be completing 100 Wall Balls (20lbs for Rx guys and 14lbs for scaled guys) followed by a Max effort calorie row in the remaining time. Simultaneously, Females 1 and 2 will be performing an AMRAP 5 of 25 Hang Power Cleans (115lbs for Rx ladies and 65lbs for scaled ladies) and 50 thrusters (35lbs for Rx Ladies and 15lbs for Scaled ladies). 

From 5:00-6:00: There will be a 1-minute transition period

From 6:00-11:00: Females 1 and 2 will now be completing 100 wall balls (14lbs for Rx Ladies and 10lbs for Scaled ladies) followed by a Max effort calorie row in the remaining time. Simultaneously, Males 1 and 2 will now be performing an AMRAP 5 of 25 Hang Power Cleans (165lbs for Rx guys and 95lbs for scaled guys) and 50 thrusters (45lbs for Rx guys and 35lbs for Scaled guys).
