2021 YVR SEASON 1

Didn't have time to commit to a whole season?
Register a team to compete just in the Playoffs! 

LOOKING FOR 3 SCALED TEAMS @ DISCOUNTED RATE! 

Teams require minimum 2M + 2F but have the option to fill a roster of 3M+3F.

PLAYOFF DETAILS

  • Playoffs are an all day event running from ~10AM - 4PM
  • All events will require 2M+2F
  • There will be a minimum of 4 events / scores per team
  • Playoff only registration does NOT include a shirt - but registered athletes will have the option to purchase a shirt for $10 at the event.

HOW'S IT SCORED?

  • Teams that have taken part in the season will have a ranking (score) for 'event 1' of playoffs (the season) 
    • This will give them a 1-6 point leading going into playoffs
  • Teams that register for just playoffs will come into playoffs with 0 points 
  • Playoffs will consist of (minimum) 3 qualifier events (and 4+ scores)
  • The top 2 teams in each division will compete in a head to head final at playoffs

Workouts

Based on teams finishing place in the season.

Event 1: Max Lift

  • Team: 2M + 2F

Rx & Scaled: 'Bella Complex'

  • 1 Clean
  • 1 Shoulder to overhead
  • 1 Front Squat
  • 1 Shoulder to overhead

FLOW

  • Teams will only have 2-4 minutes prep time on the floor prior to their 12 minute start
  • Teams will all share one 35lb barbell
  • 1 Athlete will lift at a time
  • The weight on the bar must always go UP, you cannot take weight off the bar
  • Athletes may take as many attempts as they like - only their heaviest successful attempt will count
  • Barbells must ALWAYS have clips on to count
  • Athletes must ALWAYS declare their weight prior to lifting
  • The final lift must START before the buzzer

Team 2M+2F

Athletes will move through the stations waterfall style.

14 minute cap

  • 80x Calorie Ski (team total)
  • 30 Pullups
    • (Rx) Kipping
    • (i) Banded
    • (s) Ring Row
  • 80 Calorie Bike (team total)
  • 30 Axel Bar Thruster / Front Squat

Team total movements mean the work may be split any way, but the final athlete cannot move on until the total is completed.

FLOW

  • At 3, 2, 1, go the first athlete will begin on the Ski
  • Since this is a team total movement the athlete may move on after completing 1, or all of the calories
  • Once the athlete moves to the next movement, the 2nd athlete may begin on the ski
  • The first athlete must complete 30 pullups before moving to the bike
  • The athlete must complete a minimum of 1 calorie on the bike before moving on
  • The final athlete may not move past the team total movements until the total is completed
  • As the front athlete moves forward, the next may get on the ski erg
  • There may only ever be 1 athlete working in each station
  • Athletes may not stand 'between' stations when waiting for the athlete ahead

Team 2M / 2F

6min AMRAP with 1 athlete in each pair working at a time.

  • 3 Ball over the shoulder
  • 30' unbroken carry
  • 6 Goblet Squats
  • 30' unbroken carry

 

  • (rx) 100 / 75lb
  • (i) 80 / 50lb

FLOW

  • Teams will split up 2M sharing 1 ball and 2F sharing the other
  • At 3, 2, 1 GO - 1M and 1F will start with ball over the shoulder reps then will carry the ball to the other side and perform the squats (with ball at chest) then they will return back to the starting point
  • Upon their return they may do another set of reps before performing another carry, or may trade off with their partner
  • Once the ball has been picked up for the carry it cannot touch the ground until it has returned to the original start or the set does not count

PLAYOFFS FINAL A

Team of 2M then 2F.
Score will be total 2M time + total 2F time.

For time (6min cap)

  • 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 Sled Push (40')
  • 20 Wallballs between each set (20/14 @ 10/9')

EVENT FLOW

  • At 3,2,1 go the first athlete will begin pushing the (empty) sled the first ~30' distance
  • At each end the athlete may turn the sled around or push it back via the low handles. Each length = 1 rep
  • Once the sled has gone out and back, an athlete will complete 20 wallballs
  • Work may be split any way between the 2 athletes but they must always TAG OFF to ensure safety

Final score for this event will be 2M team finish time + 2F Team finish time.

FINALS FLOW

  • Team of 2M will do Final A while team of 2F complete Final B.
  • There will be a 2 minute break between A+B where M & F will switch.
  • After Finals B there will be a 2 minute break where teams may switch out 1M & 1F athlete for event C.

PLAYOFFS FINAL B

Team of 2F then 2M


6 Minutes for both athletes to find a Max:

  • 1x Snatch + 1x Hang Snatch

EVENT FLOW

  • The team of 2 athletes will have 6 minutes to find a max for the complex
  • Same rules apply as standard strength events
  • Barbell weight must go up
  • Clips must be utilized
  • Athletes must declare their weights to their judge prior to lifting

FINALS FLOW

  • Team of 2M will do Final A while team of 2F complete Final B.
  • There will be a 2 minute break between A+B where M & F will switch.
  • After Finals B there will be a 2 minute break where teams may switch out 1M & 1F athlete for event C.

PLAYOFFS FINAL C

Team of 2M + 2F will work in teams of 1M + 1F

  • 60 Syncho SA Dumbbell Thruster (50/35)
  • 20 Sled push (M: low / W: high @ 50lb)
  • 40 Synchro Alternating single arm Devils Press
  • 20 Sled push

EVENT FLOW

  • At 3,2,1 go a pair of 1M + 1F will begin synchro Dumbbell Thrusters
  • Athletes must stay within ~`1 rep of each - your judge will only 'count' reps completed by the slowest athlete - so if one gets ahead the reps will not count
  • Athletes may tag in / out at any time but it must always be 1M + 1F athlete performing the 'synchro' movements
  • After the thrusters the team will perform 20 sled pushes (each length = 1)
  • Female athletes will push the sled 'out' via the high bars and male athletes will push the sled 'back' via the low bars - the sled may not be turned
  • Then a pair of 1M + 1F will perform 40 synchro alternating single arm devils press
  • Once completed the team will finish with 20 sled push
  • Time is complete when the sled crosses the final line

FINALS FLOW

Team of 2M will do Final A while team of 2F complete Final B.

There will be a 2 minute break between A+B where M & F will switch.

After Finals B there will be a 2 minute break where teams may switch out 1M & 1F athlete for event C.

Team 2M+2F

  • Teams will get a 5 minute window to find a max height box jump from each athlete.

Box jump must be performed from a 2 foot stand still (no step) and 2 foot landing on top.

FLOW

  • Teams must find an athlete NOT from their team / gym to verify / judge their scores
  • Once started, teams will have exactly 5 minutes to find a max height box jump for each athlete
  • Box height may go up / down / any changes - but athletes must declare height to judge BEFORE jumping (and give judge time to confirm)
  • Teams MUST setup boxes so that height numbers all line up on same side
