2024 Amoskeag Classic
About This Competition
We are BACK for year 4 with some BIG CHANGES for an even bigger competition experience!
CrossFit Amoskeag is excited to bring you the 2024 Amoskeag Classic, a 2-day individual AND ALL-NEW TEAM event for all levels with cash prizes for all podium finishers in all divisions. The Amoskeag Classic is for anyone who wants to step their game up and feel what it’s like to compete on a bigger stage.
NEW this year, there are now Individual (Rx, Intermediate & Scaled for Male and Female athletes) and Co-Ed Partner Teams (Rx, Intermediate, Scaled, and Masters) divisions. Individual divisions for the RX, Intermediate and Scaled will remain at 14 athletes, and the Team divisions will be capped at 7 teams per division, so DO NOT WAIT as we expect a sell out in all divisions. Two days of events for all divisions using multiple indoor and outdoor spaces and possible off site event(s).
***NOTE: The event itself will NOT be processing any refunds this year. If you think you may need to withdraw for any reason prior to competition and would like a refund, please purchase the FanShield insurance when registering.***
STANDARDS*
*Sorry, 2024 Semifinalists! If you qualified for and competed in a CrossFit Games Semifinal event in 2024, Individual OR Team, our individual competition is not for you. Semifinalists from years past that did NOT qualify and compete in 2024 will be allowed to compete in the Individual RX division. HOWEVER, if you did qualify for and compete in a Semifinal in 2024, you may compete on an RX Team only (limit 1 Semifinal athlete per team, Male or Female).
This year, we are also removing the CrossFit Open placement standards for our divisions based on the change for Quarterfinals moving from the top 10% advancing to the top 25% advancing. The below standards are applicable for both Individual and Team divisions.
With the removal of the Masters Individual divisions for 2024, any Masters athletes interested in competing individually should use the below standards as their guide for choosing an appropriate division as well.
- RX Indy/Team: Any individuals who did not qualify for a 2024 CrossFit Games Semifinal, Individual or Team. RX athletes should have proficiency in higher-skill movements such as Muscle Ups (both variations), HS Walking, HSPU (all variations), Double Unders, all rig movements, and full squat variations of the Olympic lifts for repetitions and maximal load. Semifinal athletes allowed in Team division ONLY (limit 1 per team).
- Intermediate Indy/Team: Intermediate athletes are working towards proficiency in higher-skill movements but are proficient in movements such as Muscle Ups (bar variation), kipping HSPU, Double Unders, Chest to Bar Pull-Ups, Toes to Bar, HS Walking in 5ft increments, as well as proficient or working on proficiency in full squat variations of the Olympic lifts.
- Scaled Indy/Team: Scaled athletes are working towards building skills in, or have a few reps of movements such as kipping Pull-Ups and Toes to Bar, but are able to perform basic skill movements such as jumping Pull-Ups/Ring Rows, Hand Release Push-Ups, Open-standard scaled Wall Walks, Single Unders, and are able to perform power variations of the Olympic lifts for repetitions and maximal load.
- Masters Teams: Masters Teams must consist of 1 Male and 1 Female athlete, both over the age of 35 years as of 8/17/24, and their combined age must be greater than 85 years. Masters athletes are working towards proficiency in higher-skill movements but are proficient in movements such as kipping Pull-Ups (all variation), kipping HSPU, Single and Double Unders, Toes to Bar, HS Walking in 5ft increments, as well as working on proficiency in full squat variations of the Olympic lifts.
THIS LIST OF STANDARDS IS NOT INCLUSIVE OF MOVEMENTS THAT MAY BE PROGRAMMED AT THE COMPETITION, IT IS SIMPLY A GUIDE.
**Any athlete may register in any division higher than their capabilities if they so choose. There are no age restrictions in any Individual or Team divisions, excluding the Masters Team division.
