About This Competition

The 1st Phorm Monster Games are a test of fitness typically found at Semi-Final CrossFit competitions. Taking place July 15-17 on the campus of Missouri Southern State University in Joplin, MO.

The 2022 games have morphed to offer two ways to compete: individually and as teams of two. 

With experienced event and athlete programming from Jill Glasenapp of Jacob Heppner's Grit Performance and Steven Tackett of Midwestern Built Strength & Conditioning, The 1st Phorm Monster Games prides itself on being a full test of fitness.

Individual Divisions:

RX Men and Women (20 person cap each)
Intermediate Men and Women (40 person cap each)

LEGENDS MASTERS REGIONAL QUALIFIER
Our in-person Master’s individual competition serves as the Midwest Regional qualifier for the December 2022 Legends competition in San Diego, CA.  Quickly rising to the premier Master’s Competition in the United States, Legends has their own qualifier in August, all 3 podium spots in all age divisions at the 2022 1st Phorm Monster Games get their ticket punched directly to Legends in December! When registering, use the age you will be on December 31, 2022!

Masters Age 35-39 (15 person cap each +invites)
Masters Age 40-44 (15 person cap each +invites)
Masters Age 45-49 (15 person cap each +invites)
Masters Age 50-54 (10 person cap each +invites)
Masters Age 55+ (10 person cap each +invites)

2-Person Co-ed Teams & Same Sex Team Divisions:

Intermediate
Masters
Scaled

There will be a minimum of 10 scored events.  Workouts will not be released until the week of competition but here is what you can expect:

Rx - Run, swim (short), high skill gymnastics, barbell cycling, rope climbs, Dumbells, high Box Jumps, Hand Stand Walking and Hand Stand Push-Ups, Sand Bags, GHD's, Various Olympic Lifts and various machine distance/cals.

Intermediate/Masters - Similar to Rx but ligher loads and volume.

Scaled - You will be tested in general fitness without high skilled gymnastics or heavy loads.  You will not swim but you will run.  We consider this to be a good starting point if you've never competed but can generally perform most class workout movements.

Refund Policy - You will be refunded if you qualify for the 2022 CrossFit Games, outside of that there are no refunds.  Should a teammate become injured, you may substitute with a new partner.
