THE SUFFOLK GAMES MIXED PAIRS - EVENT ITINERARY

The day: The Event will run from 9:00am – 5:00pm (latest). Workout 1 will begin at 9am with Suffolk Games Champions presentation aiming to be at 4:50pm.
Registration: Athletes will be able to arrive and register from 7:30am with last registration by 8:30am. We ask all athletes to submit their exercise waiver through Aretas before the 30th September. This is part of the registration. Waivers will only be available online. Your participation in the event will only be confirmed once your waivers have been signed.
Workouts and Briefing: Workout descriptions and standards will be available on your Team Aretas Account from Sunday, 17th September.
WE KINDLY ASK ALL ATHLETES TO FAMILIARISE THEMSELVES WITH THE WORKOUTS AND STANDARDS BEFORE SEPTEMBER 30th.
Doing so will ensure the heats can run smoothly with minimum time required between changeovers.
There will be a short athlete briefing that will begin at 8:20am. The briefing will run through the workouts and allow the opportunity for athletes to ask any questions they may have.
Please note, we are aiming to start Heat 1 promptly at 9am
Spectators: Spectators will be able to enter the venue from 8:30am (unless you are entering early with a Team) and there on throughout the day. A reminder that spectator tickets can be purchased through Aretas and we recommend purchasing prior to the event due to limited capacity. Tickets acquired before the event will be signed off but there will also be spectator tickets available on the day.
Parking: There is plenty of parking available at the venue however we do encourage car sharing where possible! . Cars can be parked in the main car park in front of the building / venue. Volunteers will be on hand to direct you both to the car park and registration.
Waivers: Each participating athlete is required to sign a Suffolk Games Waiver before competing. The waivers are part of your registration so please ensure both you and your team-mate have signed to enable you to compete on the day.
The Venue: The workouts themselves will take place inside The Barn at Trinity Park.
The Barn has a large floor area for competing athletes, as well as space for athletes and spectators to watch when not competing. Spectator seating and vendors will also be available on the day.
There are toilets and changing facilities available, all of which will be clearly signposted. Though this is an indoor venue, with access to get outside through 2 doors and a main entrance.
The Format of the day:
Teams will complete 4 workouts throughout the day. There will be a maximum of 5 separate heats consisting of a maximum of 12 pairs. Each team will be assigned a lane prior to the event. Each lane will have all the equipment needed throughout the day.
Important Athlete information
Please note, if any equipment is dropped from above the shoulders during a workout, pairs will receive a 5 second penalty.
Scoring:
Scoring of each workout will be in keeping with the CrossFit scoring system , with the teams accumulating the LOWEST points total over the 4 workouts being deemed the Suffolk Games Champions.
The points total will accumulate with each one ( please see Suffolk Games workouts for confirmation of scoring ). Once each team has completed each workout , the final standings will be announced. The Suffolk Games is pleased to say they will be using ARETAS as their scoring software for the day. Teams will be able to access the scoreboard through their Team Aretas account.
The Suffolk Games original competition is back. This event is for all abilities, although our standards are as follows:
As a pair moving a 50kg work from Ground to over head.
Moving a 35/25kg Barbell from Ground to over head
Swinging a 24/16kg Kettlebell above your head.
The Price is now £75 (from Sept 4th) but this is with no t-shirt)
