The SW1 Pairs Battle
About This Competition
Join us on Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th January 2023 for our same sex SW1 Pairs Battle Throwdown! 2 males or 2 females will make up a team.
Saturday will be for the scaled division.
Sunday will be for the RX division.
The event will take place in our 4000 sq ft CrossFit facility in Chippenham.
Our scaled division is designed for athletes newer to CrossFit and/or competing. If athletes can complete the movements in the RX list, they should not enter this category.
Our RX division is designed for experienced athletes with all the movement standards listed below firmly in the locker as a minimum.
The scaled division, every team will complete 4 workouts throughout the day and the top 3 teams will podium for medals and prizes. (There will be no final).
The RX division, every team will complete 3 workouts, then the top 10 teams will progress to workout 4, and then the top 5 teams will progress to workout 5. The top 3 teams after all 5 events will podium for medals and CASH PRIZE POTS!
1st Place - £300
2nd Place - £200
3rd Place - £100
(cash prizes only winnable in the RX division)
We have a fully stocked Coffee Bar serving barista fresh ground coffee, Noccos and protein bars. We will also have food vendors joining us for the day to keep you fully fueled throughout.
All workouts and movement standards will be revealed 1 week prior to the event.
Entry is £40 per person and we are limited to just 40 teams per day - 20 Male + 20 Female, so bag your spot now!
Minimum standards / ability (but not limited to)
Scaled
Running
Deadlift 60/40kg
GTOH / Thruster 40/30kg
Box Jumps 24/20"
DB Movements 20/12.5kg
Kettlebell 24/16kg
Both athletes should be able to complete all the above movements as a minimum.
RX
Deadlift 100/70kg
Clean + Jerk 70/50kg
Snatch 60/40kg
Pull Ups / C2B
Toes To Bar
Both team athletes should be confident with the above movements as a minimum.
Workouts 4 and 5 for the RX division will not be released prior to the day and will entail more technical movements, including gymnastics and heavier barbell work than listed above. Expect RX advanced standards.
*Tickets will be non refundable and any team member changes must be given to the team in writing prior to the day.
**Cash prizes are pots split between Male & Female RX teams.

Workouts
Workout 1 Part A
1 Mile Run for time
Both athletes are timed separately and added together for a combined time.
Athletes can't start Part B until both are back from the run.
(10 min cap)
Workout 1 Part B
Max GTOH 70 / 50kg
Snatch and Clean + Jerk are acceptable.
1 bar between 2 athletes.
Athletes can switch whenever they like.

Both athletes have a 12 minute window to achieve a max complex lift of:
1 Snatch + 3 Overhead Squats + 1 Hang Snatch
Score = Combined weight of both athletes
