About This Competition
Welcome to the first ever Heart and Soul Throwdown here at CrossFit Awaken!
We welcome you to join in on our all inclusive CrossFit competition, true to the pyramid! You will see aspects from all elements of CrossFit!
What can you expect?
Challenge. While inclusive, our workouts will look to test your fitness across all elements of CrossFit. Metabollic Conditioning, gymnastics, weightlifting and throwing, and sport. More soon on the nutrition element.
Community. We hope to bring the region of Central Queensland to join in with our growing community to elevate CrossFit competition for all walks of life!
Fun. Lots of fun. There will surely be laughs, smiles, and tears. Tears of joy!
We have released movement standards on Instagram and Facebook. These are all inclusive for all of our future events. (As an example, there will be no HSPU in this one ;) but maybe another). Those are as follows

Workouts will be released the weeks leading up to the Throwdown! So prepare yourself and get ready to get after it!
FAQ:
Parking will be on Denham and Alma Street. Strictly no parking behind the building.
Timeline of events will be updated closer to time after registrations are finalized. We will be looking to kick off no later than 7am with a total of 4 total scored events taking place inside the facility with a final for the top teams in each division. One floater workout will be occuring outside the physical gym and can be done in a specific timeline. Further details to follow.
Warm up will be allowed in work spaces that are not in use.
Spectators are welcome!
Food is being sourced, however, Two Professors, Fuel, and Zambreros are all a short distance from the venue.
Therapy. Closer to the date we will release plans for our ice bath, sauna, and massage therapists.
Policies and procedures:
No refunds. Unfortunately, we will look to have a strict no refund policy. Teammates may change until May 13th unless extenuating circumstances are presented. IF you must drop out, you can award your team to someone else as long as that is done a week in advance.
COVID procedures mandated by the Queensland government must be followed. We would appreciate if you are unwell to stay at home. Updates to follow if required.

Workouts
Burpee-Lift
P1 starts with a burpee then cleans the bag up to the box and over. When the bag hits the floor p2 then begins the workout. Time is total Finish. Increase in burpees per station (1-2-3)

How Bad Do You Want It?
Athletes begin the workout at the head of the rower. At 3, 2, 1, GO! Athletes move to the sandbag and perform the appropriate amount of repetitions for the round and then immediately move to the rower to begin accumulating meters. Every 2 minutes athletes must get off the rower and perform the required work before getting back onto the rower.

Workload is split however athletes see fit. Once the team have completed the required reps of their sandbag cleans, they may begin lateral burpees over the rower. Athletes may then begin to row. At the call of the round, the oar must be reracked and no metres accumulated until the workload is performed. Rowing is split however it is seen fit.
Score is meters accumulated on rower.

Sandbag Clean standards. Athletes must touch the top of the shoulder with the sandbag with full hip extension at the top of the rep. Athletes may drop the bag over the shoulder but only with proper hip extension. Athletes may choose to touch and go the repetitions, however standards regarding full extension at the knee and hip must be met.
Burpee standards. Athletes must perform a burpee with their chest touching the ground before moving from the floor. Once athletes have met the standard on the floor they may move over the rower without reaching full extension, as per typical lateral burpee standards. RX and Intermediate MUST jump over the rower, with scaled being allowed to step over.
Row standards. The rower oar must be racked at all times not in use. Failure to do so will result in disallowed reps. Athletes must exit the seat at the start of round 2, 3, 4, and 5 before their team has moved on to the burpees. Athletes may not sit on the seat while burpees are being performed.

Athletes may split calories however they see fit. Fastest time wins. Athletes earn more lifting time the faster their calories.
Scaled can reset between lifts and require only s2o for jerks.
As soon as the judge tells the athletes their bike is complete, they may begin lifting. Score is combined total load. No partial lifts count. IF the bar is off the floor at the buzzer, the lift counts if completed in correct form.

At 3, 2, 1, GO! Athletes begin accumulating their calories, split however they see fit. The window to complete the calories is the same window for weight lifting. Earn your keep! Score for event 3 is the screen reading on the echo bike.
