Asia Championships 2016 Qualifier
About This Competition
Asia Championships is a yearly gathering of affiliates, designed to celebrate and support talent in the Asia region. We are a three-stage individual competition, which begins every year on the 1st of January.
- Elite Men
- Elite Women
- Legacy Men (aged 35, and above)
- Legacy Women (aged 35, and above)
AGE LIMITS AND CATEGORIES
The Elite category is open to all athletes of all ages. The Legacy category is open to all athletes aged or turning 35 and above in the 2016 calendar year (Jan 1 - Dec 31, 2016). This means that the youngest person eligible to compete in the Legacy category would celebrate was born on Dec 31, 1981. Proof of age will be required upon acceptance to advance to Division, and can come in the form of any ID stating your date of birth.
PROOF OF RESIDENCY
Athletes must also provide proof of residency in order to accept the invitation to advance to the next few stages of the Championships. Proof of residency can be a utility bill, license, passport or any form of identification that identifies your residential address to your name.
A series of workouts will be released on April 8th, 2016. Upon which, athletes will be given a week to submit all scores. Registration for the qualifier will remain open until the very last day of score submission - April 12, 2016.

- two tie break times
Scoring window closes on 23:59 (Singapore Time, GMT+8) of April 12, 2016.

ADVANCEMENT
Top 32 individual athletes, and 16 masters' athletes from each Division will be invited to compete in one of four sanctioned tournaments. Based on your country of residence, you would fall within and compete in separate divisions.
The 2016 Divisions are as follows:
- West: Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Brunei, Indonesia, Vietnam
- Central: Hong Kong, Taiwan, China, Japan
- North: Korea
- East: Philippines, Guam
All individual athletes competing the Pacific Regionals are granted exemption from the Divisional Tournaments, and gain direct advancement to the Asia Championships Grand Final.

Workouts
- Athletes must load their own bars.
- There is no minimum start weight, and athletes can begin with the load used in Online Qualifier 1.
- Starting with a pre-loaded bar is not permitted.
