David Nelson End of Watch Workout
About This Competition
The David Nelson End of Watch Workout is a tribute to the life, service, and sacrifice of Officer David Nelson, who gave his life in the line of duty serving his community.
This event is more than just a workout—it is a chance to honor a fallen officer through effort, grit, and purpose. Each mile, each repetition, and each movement represents the dedication, courage, and selflessness that defined Officer Nelson’s career.
Participants will be challenged physically and mentally, pushing through adversity in a way that reflects the resilience required in law enforcement and in life. This is an opportunity to come together as a community—first responders, athletes, and supporters alike—to remember a hero and carry forward his legacy.
All proceeds from this event go directly to the Officer David Nelson Memorial Scholarship Fund, supporting future generations who embody the same character, commitment, and service to others.
Compete with purpose. Honor with effort. Never forget.

Workouts
The David Nelson End of Watch Workout is designed to honor Officer David Nelson through a physical test of endurance, discipline, and resilience.
The workout begins with a 1-mile run, setting the tone for the challenge ahead.
Upon completion of the run, participants will perform a descending ladder of 19 to 1 repetitions of:
Air Squats
Push-Ups
Sit-Ups
Athletes will complete 19 reps of each movement, then 18, 17, and so on, down to 1—testing both physical stamina and mental toughness.
Following the ladder, participants will enter the pool and complete 19 laps, finishing the workout with a final push that demands perseverance and grit.
The structure of this workout is deeply symbolic. Officer David Nelson’s badge number was 1191, and the repetitions—19 down to 1, followed by 19 laps—are performed in honor of that number.
This is more than a workout. It is a tribute—an opportunity to challenge yourself while honoring the life, service, and sacrifice of Officer Nelson.
