About This Competition

SEND’ER DOWN HUEY 2023

After the first instalment in 2022, SEND’ER DOWN HUEY is back for 2023. Soak up the atmosphere, while enjoying the beautiful coastal area of Ulladulla.

Same sex pairs and mixed pairs will compete across four workouts, including weightlifting, zuu, gymnastics, and conditioning. Open and RX divisions are available. Three workouts will be released prior to the event, with one workout to be released on the day.

Movement requirements include:

- Wall walks
- Russian kettle bell swings
- Dumbbell movements
- Slam balls
- Barbell movements including clean and jerk, and snatch
- Gymnastic movements
Please note: refunds will not be permitted.

The run is completed together, the gymnastic movements are completed 1 person working 1 person resting. No minimum work requirement on the gymnastic movements, both person must complete the run though. Gymnastic movements can begin as soon as one athlete is back to the bar.

RX: 15/22.5kg Open:  10/15kg

One athlete working at a time, reps can be broken up anyway with no minimum work requirement.  Once the workout begins the dumbbell is not allowed to touch the floor, if it does a 5 synchro burpee penalty will be applied. 

The Complex: 9 Min Cap

 

Deadlift

Hang Clean

Shoulder to overhead

 

This event is a combination of both athletes heaviest lift completed within the time Cap. To be able to attempt a lift both athletes must complete 10 Synchro Lateral Burpees over line. Once burpees are complete both athletes are allowed 1 attempt at the complex. To have another attempt the synchro burpees must be completed.

Wall Climbs

Bear Crawl Laps (5 Metres)

KB Swings Synchro

 

RX:

Wall Climb, 310mm line from wall, athlete must start lying on the floor with chest in contact. Athlete will move into a vertical position with both hands touching the line before returning to a horizontal position with chest touching floor. 

 

Bear Crawl, forward and reverse bear crawl is allowed, throughout the movement the hips must remain higher than the shoulders. 

 

KB Swings, eye level position only required. RX: 24/16

 

Open:

Wall Climb, 1 metre line from wall, athlete must start lying on the floor with chest in contact. Athlete will move into a vertical position with both hands touching the line before returning to a horizontal position with chest touching floor. 

 

Bear Crawl, forward and reverse bear crawl is allowed, throughout the movement the hips must remain higher than the shoulders. 

 

KB Swings, eye level position only required. Open: 16/12
