About This Competition

Never Back Down Partner Challenge is back! 

We are taking this version online with a 1 hour Gaunlet style competition. The workouts will be released on Thursday Nov. 26th at 8pm. You and your partner will have until Sunday Nov. 29th at 8pm to submit your score for the 4 workouts. The workouts will be done within 1 hour and start at specific times within that hour. ex. Workout 1: from 0:00- 10:00 complete sychro 21-15-9. Then workout 2 starts 10:00- 25:00 window. 

Rx and scaled will require video submission to qualify for podium prizes (1 hour rolling footage on youtube or google drive link). Video must be taken through the app WODProof with timer and NBD logo in corner. Make sure to search qualifiers and find the event to set up the correct timer.

Leaderboard will be finalized and posted on December 1st for all athletes to view standings.

Male/Female pairs.

Equipment required:

- rower

- barbell, collars, bumper plates

- dumbell

- pull up bar

 

Rx and Scaled Division 

RX standard:

- t2b

- clean and jerk 135/95

- snatch 115/85

- DL 225/155

- HSPU

- DB movements 50/35

 

Scaled Standard:

- hanging knee raise

- clean and Jerk 115/85

- snatch 95/65

- DL 155/105

- Push ups

- DB movements 35/20

Workouts

Wod 2: 3RM Thruster 12:00- 22:00

Both athletes can work at the same time and can also help each other load weight, but no other help from others is allowed. At the 12:00 mark, both athletes are standing tall before picking up the bar. Bar can be pre-loaded, but attempts will only count within the working window. Make sure to film plates close up that were on bar once all workouts are complete. Keep this bar in the frame until the weights have been shown.  Score is the max weight successfully lifted for 3 reps by both male and female combined.

Wod 1: Chipper 0:00-12:00

80 Bar Facing Buprees

60 Deadlifts @225/155.  (Scaled 155/105)

40 HSPU (Scaled Hand Release Push Ups)

 

All reps can be broken however you choose. Only 1 partner working at a time. No tag necessary to switch working partner, but make sure P1 has finished the rep entirely before P2 starts any reps. Start standing tall until after the G0 call, then P1 can drop into first burpee. There is no minimum work requirement for 1 person. Score is the total time after the last rep of HSPU/ hand release push up is completed.

Wod 3: Devil’s Row 22:00 – 50:00

Female – 1000m row + 20 Devil Press @35s (scaled 20s)

Male – 1000m row + 20 Devil Press @50s (scaled 35s)

Female- 500m row + 10 Devil Press

Male – 500m row + 10 Devil Press

Female- 250m Row +5 Devil Press

Male 250m Row + 5 Devil Press

This is for time, with a 28 minute time cap. Female and Male partners will alternate rounds working one at a time. Female starts with 1000m row and 20 devil press. As soon as female is done her last devil press, the male can grab handle to start row. (male can be waiting on the rower but cannot touch the handle).  The score for this workout is the total time it takes to complete all 3 rounds each. Score for this workout is the time at the end of the male partner’s 5th devil press. Make sure to do the math on starting time at 22 minutes into the competition but start time for this workout is 0 – time it takes to finish this workout.  Ex. If you finished this workout at 45:22 in your video, then your score for this workout would be 23:22. 

If the workout is not completed each meter and each devil press will count as a rep. 

Wod 4: Synchro Sprint 50:00- 60:00

21-15-9 Power Snatch @95/65 +T2B (scaled @75/55 and hanging knee raise)

This entire workout is synchronized. Complete 21 snatches together, then 21 T2B/ Hanging Knee Raise together. Then 15 of each, and 9 of each. Score for this workout is time after the last synchronized T2B/ Hanging Knee Raise. Remember to calculate your time from the 50 minute mark of your video as 0:00 of this workout. Ex. If you finished this workout at 55:31 in your video, then your score for this workout is 5:31.
