Battle of Alberta: Quest to Find the Best
About This Competition
BATTLE OF ALBERTA
What is it? Alberta divided: North vs. South.
An online test of functional fitness to find the fittest. (Red Deer & North vs the South).
When is it? February 25th - March 1st
How does it work? 3+ workouts will be released Thursday February 25, you will complete them on your own time and submit all scores (& videos) by Monday March 1st. Specific video requirements will be sent to each registered team.
What are the divisions? Mixed Pairs in Elite, Rx, Scaled & Masters Rx (40+ in 2021) & *NEW* At-Home
How will it be scored? We have 4 ways to see how you measure up: 4 Leaderboards
1. North Vs. South (A. Top 20 scores (in each division in the north) vs top 20 scores (in each division in the south)
2. Fittest in the Province (Each division will have their own provincial Leaderboard)
3. Fittest in each City (any city/town with 2 or more boxes/garage gyms represented will have a ‘City’ Leaderboard)
4. Fittest in each Box
Prizes (prize value increases as registrations increase)

DIVISION EXPECTATIONS:
ELITE: No major holes. At least 1 member of the team can handle a heavy barbell in a metcon, relatively high 1RMs, and can perform all high-level gymnastics movements (Ring & Bar Muscle Ups, Strict & Kipping HSPU, etc). Most workouts will have an opportunity to ‘hide’ someone with 1 or 2 ‘holes.’
RX: Can Rx most workouts at their box. Can handle medium sized sets (5+) C2B pull-ups, T2B and HSPU along with a medium-heavy barbell in metcons (ex. 135/95 Clean & Jerk, 95/65 Thrusters, 115/75 Snatch)
SCALED: Scales some elements of most workouts at their box. Can handle scaled open movements like hanging knee raises, jumping pull-ups, single unders with lighter loads (95/65 clean & jerk, 65/45 thruster, 75/55 snatch, etc)
MASTERS RX: like RX, just more refined 😉 (both partners must be 40+)

• 2 Barbells --- 1 for Each Athlete (45lb Men | 35lb Women)
• Bumper Plates & Change Plates
• 2 x Dumbbells Each Athlete (50/35 ELT, MSTR, RX, 35/20 Scaled)
• Pull-Up Bar
• Wall space for Handstand Pushups
• *AT-HOME* 1 dumbbell (50/35), measuring tape
Refund Policy: We will not offer refunds for anything less than a provincial mandated shutdown. Substitutions (whole team or part) are allowed up to the start of the event
