About This Competition

Calling all Hybrid athletes to come and test your strength, engine and endurance in this All-day event in Henlow, Bedfordshire with live DJ’s!


This is an intermediate level event with teams of 4 going head to head to crown the “Champions of Hybrid Fitness!”


Set in a beautiful, private campsite, renowned for its festivals and family fun days, we can not wait for this event to put you through your paces and see what you are made of!


Prizes for best team name!!


The facilities include: showers, toilets, marquees and and warm up area and vendors for food, hot drinks and merch!


The nearest train station is just a 2 minute walk away (Arlesey) and you do have the option of overnight camping.

Workouts

Back for another year, the ‘Divide & Conquer’ workout sees you pick your best man for the job. 


This one involves strategic planning. Chose your team mates and your order wisely…



Athlete 1 is designated runner

Athlete 2 will complete 35 M/25 F cals on Assault Bike

Athlete 3 will complete 25 M/20 F Burpees over rower

Athlete 4 will complete 40 M/30 F calorie row


On ‘Go’ athlete 1 will run 160m and tag the next person to complete their reps/calories. Upon completion, athlete 1 will run 160m then tag the next person and so on. 


The runner must make physical contact with the next athlete before they can start. 


Athletes are allowed to get on their erg ready. 


The row/AB/burpees scan be performed in ANY order but:


Only 1 person can complete each station

All athletes must compete

Once the 4th athlete has completed their station ANY THREE athletes must each run 160m in relay style. 


You decide which athlete doesn’t run. 


Score is for time. Fastest team back, wins.

This workout has a slight twist. The ‘twist’ is a way of earning bonus points and will be revealed on the day. 


The barbell is HEAVY so if you’re not able to ‘pull your weight’ fear not, redemption is available. 


Max reps

Barbell complex

1 clean 

1 thruster

1 front squat

1 STOH


Standards:

BB 40/60kg


Same sex teams will have 1 bar, mixed teams will have 2 bars set up with correct weight. 

Only 1 person to lift at a time

Can lift in any order

Not all athletes are required to lift

Thrusters and front squats MUST be parallel depth. 

Overheads must be elbows locked out. 

STOH can be any form; strict, push press, jerk but there MUST be a pause after the front squat. 


Each full complex is 1 point. No half points!

Time cap is 10 mins. 


There is an option for bonus points at the end of the to be disclosed on the day!

Max Box Jumps

KB hold


Everyone starts on a station. You swap every minute on the minute. 


The box and ski can’t start until the kettlebells and dead ball are off the floor. 


Every athlete must do every station 3 times in order as shown above. For example if you start on the box jumps, you move to the kettlebells then the ski then the dead ball and so on. 


Score is total calories added to total reps of box jumps completed as a team. 


10 point penalty if the kettlebells or dead ball is dropped before the minute is up. It can be placed on the floor between athletes. 


No rest between rounds. 


Kb 32/24

Box height 20/24

Dead ball 20/27

Box must be jumps. If an athlete cannot jump, they will need to do 4 step ups to 1 jump. Only complete sets of 4 will count. Only 1 athlete per team is permitted to step. 


Not a lot of tactics here or pacing on this one. Full send, breathe on the holds. 


AND DON’T DROP THE BALL!!
