Grab a partner and come join some awesome people at CrossFit First Creek's Spring Fling Competition! This is a Male/Female team event so let those spring vibes flow and go find yourself a partner!
First Place Rx team will take home a $200 cash prize and all other podium finishers will take home some amazing swag bags!
There is a division for everyone from new CrossFit athletes all the way to seasoned Rx athletes looking to score that cash prize! Once you have your partner, pick your division.
Scaled: For athletes new to competition, mastering skills and enjoying functional fitness!
Rxish: For athletes that are comfortable with most movements but don't always Rx the workouts and still have some skills they are working on.
Rx: For athletes that have competed before and are capable of Rxing most, if not all of their workouts.
Movement criteria-If you cannot lift the weights specified in your category you may still compete, you will just be scored depending on how heavy a lift you get to. The gymnastics movements may include any of these movements so each athlete must be capable of performing them. Exact standards will be released with the workouts. Each workout will be released every couple weeks along with a price increase. There will be 4 workouts with the 4th being a floater (meaning you will have to do this sometime in between your other workouts). The floater will be announced 1 week before game day! Don't worry, this will be a workout everyone will be able to do regardless of which division you signed up for!
Scaled: Knees to Chest, Jumping Pull Up (when standing under the bar with arms extended-wrists are even with the bar), Box Step Ups, Single Unders, Weights:F/#55-#95 M/#115-#155
Rxish: Toes to Bar, Kipping/Butterfly Pull Ups, HSPU, Box Jumps, Double Unders, Weights: F/#95-#135 M/#155-#205
Rx: Toes to Bar, Bar Muscle Ups, Chest to Bar, HSPU, Box Jumps, Double Unders, Weights: F/#135-#175 M/#205-#245
Workouts will be released at intervals and each time one is released, the price will increase. Movement standards will be outlined in detail in Competition Corner under each Rx workout. Specific weights and movements will be unique to each division though so look under each division for those details.
FAQ's:
Where do I park?- Parking is available in the main front parking lot.
When should athletes arrive?- Please arrive between 7-7:30 am for check in. Athlete meeting will be from 7:45-8:00. Warm up will be from 8-8:15. First heat will start at 8:30 am.
What should I bring?- Please bring a valid photo ID. You may bring tents and seating to set up outside the gym. There will be plenty of room inside the gym for spectators to stand and watch. We will have water, recovery, pre workout drinks and protein bars for purchase. Furry friends are welcome but must stay outside the gym and on a leash.
What is the cutoff for registration in order to get a shirt?- You must register your team by April 17 to get a shirt.
What if my partner bails on me?- We will only offer refunds for extenuating circumstances but no worries, just find yourself another partner! Whoever registered the team (Team Captain) can go back in to Competition Corner and switch teammates and enter the new teammates personal info in as well as t shirt size. If the Team Captain needs to bail, they can go in and enter a new Team Captain in. As long as you do this by April 17, you will have the correct T shirts. After that date, whatever size the old teammate had is what will be ordered. If both of you have to bail, just find 2 other people to take your place-you can switch divisions if necessary.
Will there be food?- Yes, Clean Eatz will be on site from 12-2:00 and have lunch items available for purchase.

Jumping Pull Ups:
Athletes will have plates stacked in order to get them to the height where their palms are just above the bar and wrists are even with the bar for the Pull Ups. Each rep will start with both hands on the bar, arms full extended and both feet on the ground. The rep will be counted when the chin is clearly over the bar.
Ring Push Ups:
Rings will be measured to 12 inches off the floor and feet must not go past the tape on the floor which will be even with the rings when they are hanging. The rep will start with arms fully extended and toes behind the taped line. Shoulders must touch the ring on the downward portion of the push up. The rep will be counted once the arms are fully extended at the top of the movement.
Athletes may switch out as needed but each athlete must do at least 5 reps of each movement in each round.
1000 m Row for time
Partner 1 will row for distance while Partner 2 carries the sandbag in 25 ft increments. Each 25 ft takes a second off your time. Sandbag cannot be put down for the whole 25 ft or you will have to start at the beginning again for it to count. Sandbag must be picked up behind the tape line and put down across the tape line. On the flip side.....the sandbag does not have to be put down every 25 ft. Once your feet cross the tape line you can turn around and keep going. Switch out as many times as needed until the 1000 meters are reached.
