Summer Slam 2026 Presented by Patriot CrossFit
About This Competition
We are pleased to announce that on Saturday August 8th, 2026, Patriot CrossFit will be hosting its 5th annual Summer Slam Fitness Competition! This is the largest fitness competition in the greater DMV area. Gyms and fitness facilities from as far as Nashville, TN and Boston, MA have sent representatives to compete against members of our local CrossFit community.
This event has SOLD OUT every year. In celebration of our 5th year we will be adding a division and increasing our size! Over the course of the day we will have 56 teams consisting of 168 athletes take the competition floor, 50+ volunteers, and 300+ spectators! The goal has been and always will be to bring the local community together through fitness and that is why we are reaching out to local small businesses, like yourselves, to see if you would like to take part in what is sure to be another great community event!
This year will have a total of 56 teams, made up of 24 Rx Teams, 12 All Male and 12 All Female, Teams, 16 Intermediate Teams, 8 All Male and 8 All Female, AND NEW TO THIS YEAR 16 MASTERS TEAMS, 8 All Male and 8 All Female. The competition will run the infamous "Power Hour" style, meaning each team will complete events back-to-back rather than spaced out over the course of the day. There will be a total of 7 heats with 8 teams in each heat. Each heat will run approximately every 70 minutes. During those 70 minutes, teams will complete a total of at least four (4) scored events to test their overall fitness level.
There will be a midday break so Athletes and Spectators can take advantage of the Vendor Village and our Judges and Equipment Crew can regroup and fuel for the afternoon heats!
Registration will open on Thursday May 1st, 2026 but do not wait! Last year we sold in in less than 2 weeks.
Regristation is non refundable. You may, however, transfer your registration to another athlete free of charge until July 15th, 2026. After July 15th, there will be a $25 fee for a late change.
All athletes will receive a welcome bag and T-Shirt the morning of the event if they register prior to July 1st, 2026. For those who have been with us for all 5 years we have a very special gift for you!
The top three teams of each division will receive prizes for their efforts from our sponsors.
We will also have a raffle for both athletes and spectators the day of the event to benefit a long time Patriot CrossFit member, Dr. Dan Alcorn, who is currently fighting grade 4 glioblastoma, an aggressive and life-altering form of brain cancer. All proceeds will go directly to Dr. Dan's GoFundMe to help cover a variety of expenses for him, his wife, and three children.

Workouts will be released between May 1st, 2026 and July 15th, 2026.
Athletes will be briefed on movement standards prior to the event and will have an opportunity to ask questions.
All volunteers will receive an event tee, lunch, and many gifts from our Sponsors.
You can purchase your media package during registration. Our media team will consist of long-time CrossFit Games photographer, Brandon Kessler (@bkessler_photo) along with videographer, Melvin Shook (@melvin.shook.media).
DJ Slinger will be returning for volume 5 and bringing the PR beats!
