50 Mile Ruck in December
About This Competition
Welcome to 50 Mile Ruck in December!
We love that you have decided to join us for the month of December in completing this 50 Mile Ruck!
Every donation will be going directly to our VETWOD fund as we together continue to make a difference in the lives of our veterans. Suicide is a constant issue in our community that must be fought head-on. Do this for your fellow veteran, do it for your family member, do it for yourself! This project is 1. To create awareness and funds to continue helping our community and 2. For YOU to be engaged with our community (in person and remote) and to join us in continuing to fight for yourself and your brothers/sisters.
It is completely up to you how you want to chip away at these 50 miles starting on Dec 1 and ending on Dec 31. We suggest using at least 20 lbs for women and 30 lbs for men but it is up to you to set your challenge. All you need is a backpack and some weight in it and then you can begin to hike with it.
You are free to use any app or site to track your miles but we would love it if joined our group on Map My Run. You can search for VETWOD Ruck Team or "VETWOD Team."
*You must log your miles here (where you registered), so we can keep track of your overall ending miles!
If you are having trouble finding us on Map My Run, please do the following:
While logged into Map My Run, go to "Friends" > Find (upper right hand corner) and search VETWOD Team. You'll see our logo!
There will be two major prizes along with some surprise giveaways.
The first prize is a brand new barbell from Hero Barbell Co. and the second is a prize pack from GORUCK. To be eligible, you must complete 50 miles. Two winners will be chosen randomly from those who complete and log the 50 miles on Strongest. You must be able to provide proof of your mileage to be eligible to win one of the two prize packages, so please make sure you are logging on any fitness tracking app (Strava, Apple Fitness, Map My Run, Garmin etc are all accepted. We just need proof if you win).
