The CQ Classic
About This Competition
A Competition created by locals for locals and hosted by CrossFit Gladstone. The competition is designed to give those new to CrossFit a chance to dip their toe in the water whilst still challenging the more experienced individuals.
Divisions:
These standards are no indication of intended workouts. They are only to be used as a guideline when determining decisions when registering.
Scaled -
Excellent knowledge with beginner competency through all movements
Cleans 40/20kg
Snatch 30/20kg
Wall Balls 9ft (parallel squat at worst)
RX-
Excellent knowledge and competency through all movements. Prepared (and able) to take on the more technical movements and heavier weights. Completed the Open mostly as perscribed (RX).

Workouts & Standards
All movements and standards will be outlined.? Each WOD offers different levels of movement and/or weight. The competitor will choose at registration which level to complete the workout. This rewards strengths exposes weaknesses and enables everyone to compete at a level which is challenging for them.
All workouts and movements standards will be released in the week prior to the event.
Briefing: Competition briefing will be specified closer to the date on the Facebook page and Website
Waivers: Waivers are to be filled out before the day, spares will be around on the day.

FAQ’s
Warming Up
There will be a warm-up area for your convenience. There will be equipment for you to use during your warm-up, but if you have specific warm-up needs, you will need to bring those items with you.
Parking
Our parking lot is going to be reserved for vendors and utilized for the workouts and a warm-up area throughout the day so you will be unable to park in the venue. There is plenty of parking along Helen street and in the vacant block across the road.
Spectators
You are welcome to bring as many spectators with you as you would like and we will have room for you to set up tents, chairs, tables, etc. for your convenience. During the competition inside the building will be reserved for athletes and spectators only, so your belongings will need to be placed outside.
Food & Drink
There will be food and drink options available to be purchased on the day.

**EVENT FLOW**
Athletes will once again start at the wall with both hands touching. At the call of 3,2,1,go both athletes move to the rower to complete the 1000m row. The reps can be split between the pair however they see fit BUT all the reps must be completed before moving onto the next movement.
The thrusters cannot be started until the judge has given the call. Likewise with the rope climbs.
Thruster
The bar is taken from the floor. The reps is counted when the athlete squats with hips passing below the top of the knees and finishes with the bar overhead with elbows locked out and the knees and hips fully extended.
Rope Climb
Any form of rope climb is permitted however athletes must have both hands below the tape line before jumping off the rope.
Jimmies
The rep is couunted when the athlete starts standing before lowering themselves to the floor hand over hand and then returns to standing, going hand over hand.
1 sec will be added to the time cap for every rep not completed.

*All Athletes will start at a offsite location and make their way back to the gym. The course will be revealed on the day.

**EVENT FLOW**
Both athletes will start at the wall with hands touching it. At the call of 3,2,1,go. Partner 1 will move forward and complete the double unders/skips, devil press and cals on the echo bike. Partner 2 will remain at the wall and cannot start the second round before partner 1 completes the cals on the echo bike and makes the tag. Partner 2 then completes the second round. When partner 2 completes the cals on the echo bike the time is recorded and that is your score.
DU/Skips
The rep is counted when you successfully once the rope passes under the feet twice for the DU and once for skips.
Devil Press
For the rep to count the athletes chest must touch the ground between the DB's before bringing the DB's up above the head and finishing with the knees and hips fully extended and the elbows locked out overhead.
Echo bike
The judge will reset the monitor after partner 1. The athlete must remain seated on the bike until all cals are completed and shown on the monitor. The judge will then give the signal to get off and make the tag.
1 second will be added to the time cap for every rep that isn't completed.

**EVENT FLOW**
On the call of 3,2,1,GO the athletes will move to their sandbag and begin the 21 reps. Only 1 Person is working at a time and all reps must be completed before moving to the next station. Once the 9 BBJO are complete the time will be noted and the athletes will rest a mandatory 2mins before starting the T2B.
For the Synchro T2B the toes of both athletes must touch the bar at the same time and the feet must return past the verticle plane of the bar. For the synchro DB Snatch, the db's must touch the ground at the same time and be locked out overhead at the same time.
**TIE BREAK**
A tie break time will be recorded upon the completition of the 9 BBJO.

**EVENT FLOW**
The bar will start unloaded on the ground. On the call of 3,2,1,GO both partners can move to the bar and load the bar to the first weight. Once the bar is picked up the entire complex must be completed for the weight to count. Once the weight is put on the bar it cannot be removed.
Clean
Any type of clean may be performed however hips and knees fully extended with feet inline at the top for the rep to count.
Front Squat
The hips must pass below the top of the knees with knees and hips fully extended at the top for the front squat reps to count.
Jerk
Any type of jerk is permitted, However, the feet must be inline with each other with knees, hips and elbows locked out and the bar overhead.
The judge will wait to see control at the top of the rep. Dropping the bar before the judge gives the signal will result in a no rep.
*SCORING*
The score for this workout is the heaviest complex completed by both partners added together.
