Lifting for Love 2023
About This Competition
Get ready to throw down at our 3rd Annual Lifting for Love!
Lifting for Love is a 501(c)(3), non-profit organization putting on a premier functional fitness competition in Augusta, GA.
Each year, we connect athletes from all over the southeast for a competitive event. A portion of the proceeds from this event will be donated to this years "jamaa" or "family". Nominations are currently open via our website.
Athletes will experience a fun, yet challenging atmosphere that is division appropriate.
Details: 4 Workouts, spread across Saturday, with ample rest between workouts. Kids & Legends will have 2 workouts.
Entry Fee Includes a free tee. We often have other swag for athletes dependent on sponsors, those will be annouced at a later date. We are working on getting athletes *free* drink tickets this year.
Divisions:
M/M (RX, Scaled, Intermediate)
F/F (RX, Scaled, Intermediate)
Masters 50+ (any combo of team)
Legends
Kids 8-15
Location: 472 Columbia Industrial Blvd, Evans, GA or offsite venue dependent on event
Standards:
RX: Your team can efficiently do the following (5-10 unbroken reps): Chest to Bar Pull-Ups, Bar Muscle Up, Hand Stand Push-ups or 5ft HS Walk, Toes to Bar, Double Unders, Box Jumps, Squat Clean 115+, and Snatch 75+.
Scaled: Athletes that are new to the competition scene or beginners. Needs to do modifications like jumping pull-ups, new to Olympic lifting. Can do hanging knee raises , Front Squat at least 85lbs, and Snatch at least 55lbs.
**Some events will only require 1 athlete to do a movement, details will be released over the coming weeks
Youth: Will be scalable to all athletes.
Legends: Will be scalable to all athletes.

Photography: Kara E Photography will be onsite covering the event. Photo packages will be available for purchase at an additional cost.
Videography: A videographer will be documenting the event and a recap video will be released post event.
Music/Sound: We have hired a DJ for 2023, and look forward to an array of workout beats!
Vendor Village: We will have a wide array of vendors, food trucks, drinks & alcohol available for purchase, as well as kid friendly activities.
Raffle: To support "Lifting for Love" we conduct a raffle each year of various items (previous years have included barbells). Raffle tickets will be for sale at event.
Merch: Additional merchandise will be available for purchase on-site. Athletes should pre-order what they want during registration for planning purposes.
Refunds: No Refunds will be given.

Part B: Athletes can trade off as desired; however, all repetitions of one movement must be completed before moving to the next movement. (e.g., You complete 24 cals on row, and you attempt and fail at multiple BMUs until time cap. Your score = 24)
“PolePole” PART A
In 45 Minutes complete, unknown distance for time.

Part A: Partners must complete Part A together and cross the finish line as a team. Athletes must continue moving until they complete the entirety of the ruck. Athletes who opt to stop prior to completion OR prior to the 45 minute cap will receive a 0 score and will not be able to complete Part B.
Bonus: Athletes may add weight to ruck/backpack in 2lb increments, up to 16lbs. Rucks can weigh no more than 36/31 respectively. Weights will be rounded DOWN to the nearest whole number (ex. If you weigh in at 26.6lbs, your weight will be 26). Bonus points will not be given for lbs over the cap. Each 2lb increment will result in 5 seconds off your time for Part A. Bonus points will not be given for teams that do not finish Part A.
