About This Competition
NFG FitGames Ireland is back on April 15th, 2023! After the huge success of NFG Ireland 2022 and due to popular demand, we are returning to Dublin again next year! We’re excited to announce that there will be a BRAND-NEW VENUE next year with the one-day event being held in the Sport Ireland National Indoor Arena on the National Sports Campus, Dublin.

NFG FitGames is the ultimate test of POWER, ENDURANCE, SPEED and STRENGTH and is open to all levels of individuals from Novice (NOVO) to Experienced (OPEN). Our workouts are tailored for participants of ALL ABILITIES – whether you are completely new to functional fitness, are a member of a traditional gym and want to try a new challenge, or have been competing in functional fitness for a number of years!
We are all about TEAM in 2023, with all participants competing in teams of 4 (Male, Female and Mixed) in the NOVO (Novice) and OPEN (Experienced) categories. To create a fitness festival atmosphere, all participants will compete on Saturday, April 15th with different prize ceremonies taking place throughout the day (event schedule, workouts and timings will be confirmed closer to event day).
Competition format:
- NOVO Teams of four or OPEN Teams of four
- Sub-categories available (male, female and mixed with even gender split)

Workouts
0-8 mins:
o 800m Run *only two team members running at once with pairs swapping every 200m
o Followed by Max Calories burnt simultaneously on Bike & Ski-erg
8-10 mins:
o Max Synchro Down Ups
10-18 mins:
o 800m Run *only two team members running at once with pairs swapping every 200m
o Followed by Max Calories burnt simultaneously on Bike & Ski-erg
18-20 mins:
o Max synchro Down Ups
Score = Max Calories + Max Reps of Synchro Down Ups
Teams must complete as many reps as possible of the below in the allotted times.
Teams will split into pairs with each pair working for 2 mins and then resting for 2 mins (please note whilst one pair is working the other pair are resting & vice versa).
- 0-12 mins:
- 100/70 cal row
- 80 x burpee box jumps (24”)
- 60 x Synchro DB Snatch (22.5kg/15kg)
- 40 x D-Ball Ground to Shoulder (60kg/40kg)
- 20 x Synchro SA DB Thruster (22.5kg/15kg)
· 12-14 mins: REST
· 14-26 mins:
- 20 x Synchro SA DB Thruster (22.5kg/15kg)
- 40 x D-Ball Ground to Shoulder (60kg/40kg)
- 60 x Synchro DB Snatch (22.5kg/15kg)
- 80 x burpee box jumps (24”)
- 100/70 cal row
Score = Total calories/reps achieved in time cap
- 0-8 mins - each team member must find their 3RM Bench Press
- 8-16 mins - each team member must find their 3RM Back Squat
- 16-24 mins - each team member must find their 3RM Dead lift
Score = Total Max Lifts of all team members
