MARCH 5th UPDATE:

Due to an overwhelming number of late registrations, this event is now full. If you would like to get on the waitlist, we may be opening up limited spots in divisions to fill empty lanes.  These will be decide by March 10th. Please click here  to get on the waitlist.

This is a great competition for athletes of all abilities and ages from any walk of life. Affiliate -> Sure! Training in a home gym -> Absolutely!

Just starting out and can't do many RX'd movements! We have a division for you. Super competitive and highly skilled? We have a home for you as well.


This year we would LOVE to grow the TEEN divisions and start having conversations with the community about how to add Adaptive Divisions to our competition!

What is the OVT?
Okanagan Valley Throwdown was established in 2014 and the Fraser Valley Throwdown in 2016 when the Series was born. Organizers wanted to create an experience where athletes of all fitness levels could compete and reach their goals in a one-of-a-kind venue and atmosphere. Today the Throwdown Series is one of the largest functional fitness events in Western Canada.

Refunds: There are no refunds. Athletes can purchase extra insurance to cover reimbursement under defined circumstances. This is extra to the registration and The Throwdown Series is not affiliated in any way to the Insurance Provider and does not represent them or their policies.

Transfers & Substitutions: Teams or Individuals that wish to transfer their registration or make individual substitutions due to injury, illness or other extenuating circumstances are permitted to do so until March 4th, 2023 at 11:59pm.

Spectators: Spectator tickets will be sold for this event.

Partners work one person at a time.
Advancing the barbell to the marker on the floor for each completed round.

Athletes will start behind the line
One person will advance to the working barbell station and may return to the line at any time to tag in a fresh teammate until all 9 rounds are completed.

Athletes will have 8 minutes for each teammate to establish:

Hang Clean & Jerk 1 Rep Max

Score: Total of all 3 lifts of the complex.

Athletes will start behind the start line and will tag each other out at the start line so only one athlete is on the platform at a time. Deadlift indicates the start of the attempt. Athletes are required to come to a dead stop in the hang position. Then perform a hang clean of any variation. Then perform any Shoulder to Overhead variation to complete the lift. The athlete needs to demonstrate control of the bar in the locked out position to credit the weight. Once the bar leaves the ground no part of the bar(weights) or the athlete can touch the ground until the lift is completed.
