2022 Sports4Vets Throwdown
About This Competition
The National Veterans Sports Programs and Special Events Office would like to welcome you to the 2nd Sports4Vets Throwdown, a virtual adaptive fitness competition.
The Sports4Vets Throwdown empowers Veterans of all ability levels, age and background to improve and showcase their fitness, live healthier lives though adaptive fitness and embrace a sense of a virtual community.
Classification specific adaptive fitness movement standards are in place to empower every Veteran in a competition environment.
Throughout this event - SAFETY is paramount. Athletes should not perform any movement that causes pain or could lead to injury. Athletes may make modifications to the workout as needed to meet their individual and safety needs. All workouts can be completed as an exercise for personal enrichment for those Veterans who do not wish to compete. Additionally, each Veteran athlete will be responsible for choosing the most appropriate and safest movement option for them.

Wednesday, December 15 – 1 p.m. EST -Wednesday, January 5 – 1 p.m. EST via jotform.com
Registration Window – Maximum of 500 Veteran Participants
Video Submissions will be uploaded to: https://www.box.com/ to be judged and submitted scores confirmed. Veterans who do not submit a video will not have their score counted.

Sports4Vets 2022 Throwdown Awards & Wrap-Up 1 p.m. EST
Classifications:
WHEELCHAIR: Recommended for individuals with spinal cord injuries, neurological impairments, amputations, and other diagnosis that utilize the wheelchair as the principal method of mobility.
MODIFIED MOBILITY: Recommended for individuals with lower extremity conditions such as amputations, stroke or other disabilities that impact ambulation and exercise.
MODIFIED UPPER EXTREMITY: Recommended for individuals with upper extremity conditions such as amputations, stroke or other disabilities that impact arm and hand function.
VISUAL IMPAIRMENT: Recommended for individuals with partial to total vision loss that are new to adaptive fitness.
OPEN: Recommended for individuals with no conditions significantly impacting mobility or arm/hand function.
