About This Competition
The Trafford Fitness Competitions are back for our 2nd instalment of 2025. We are an old school functional fitness throw-down in a modern and unique facility. We want you to use our competitions to showcase your fitness in a fun, friendly environment.
Our competitions will always be about championing the Scaled and Intermediate athletes. We are not interested in Rx categories, there are plenty of other comps for that division,
We have lined up an action-packed day of 4-5 challenging Workouts. The Scaled category is aimed at those athletes who are relatively new to functional fitness, who have never competed before or only a handful of times, and is programmed to be beginner friendly.
We have an Intermediate category (Scaled+), this is for the more experienced athletes who are not at the Rx levels yet, we spend a long time working out the programming for this category to ensure the workouts are challenging but also achievable.
We have a top class photographer in Kelly Clarke along with an experienced competition team you will be sure to have fun and be challenged on the day.
Our aim when programming these events is to provide a fun yet challenging event which remains inclusive to all. We want to send you home knowing you've worked hard and hopefully provided you with a couple of areas to focus your training over the following few months.
Podium prizes will be given to the top three teams.

Workouts
In a 12 minute window:
PART A for time
Split anyhow
30 Power clean (70/45)(55/35)
27 Front squat (60/40)(45/30)
24 Shoulder to overhead (50/35)(35/25)
(5 minute cap with total reps recorded as score if not completed)
Straight into:
PART B in remaining time for total weight
Max weight complex of
A: 2 power clean + 1 front squat + 1 shoulder to overhead
B: 1 power clean + 2 front squat + 1 shoulder to overhead
C: 1 power clean + 1 front squat + 2 shoulder to overhead
All attempts can be completed in any order with as many attempts as needed by each member.
In a 12 minute window:
PART A for time

AMRAP up a ladder of 2 pieces of equipment/block
Each round starts with 1 scored 15m shuttle run completed by the whole team, so
1/1/1, 1/2/2, 1/3/3, 1/4/4...
Windows are as follows including a short transition time:
1: Log ground to overhead/Dumbbell ground to overhead
2: Axle bar deadlift/Deadball over box
3: Tyre flip/Frame carry
4: Sledge pull/Sandbag carry
Everyone must run but not everyone must attempt each piece of apparatus and reps can be split anyhow between the team, IGYG or otherwise

Carries/drags will be 3m/rep
3x 3 minute AMRAPs, 1 minute rest between each.
Each block has 3 double dumbbell reps, 6 single dumbbell reps, and 9 gymnastic reps.
These reps must be completed in 2 way sync while the third teammate holds a single kettle bell in the prescribed hold for reps to count.
All work is split absolutely anyhow, and not everyone must attempt everything.
AMRAPs are as follows
3 push press (double DB)
6 devils press (single DB)
9m bear crawl (3x3m)
+ KB hold overhead
1 minute rest
3 snatch (double DB)
6 renegade row (single DB) (no press up)
9 pull up (ring row scaled)

Athletes must perform max calories across 3 separate machines, alternating each round between echo bike, c2 rower and c2 ski erg

Team can rotate around machines anyhow but each athlete must complete 2 full rounds on each machine.
