About This Competition

CrossFit Wicked is excited to announce the 5th Annual Wicked Summer Throwdown, which will take place on June 22, 2024! This CrossFit competition is open to COED teams of TWO! This year we will have FOUR DIVISIONS!!!! RX & Intermediate and introducing our newest divisions MASTERS RX & MASTERS INTERMEDIATE!


Age Requirements for Masters Divisions....

Minimum age requirement per athlete -----> 35 Years old

Cumulative Age Requirements -----> 85 Years

For example...

Partner 1 (35 years old) + Partner 2 (50 years old) = 85 years


All participating teams are guaranteed to compete in three Wods, and there will be WICKED awesome prizes for the winners! CrossFit Wicked has a reputation for running a smooth and on-time event, ensuring that all participants have a great experience!

How to choose your division?

If you normally RX all workouts in the Open then you should choose RX. Have a few holes in your game with movements like T2B and C2B? Then you should choose Intermediate. All Wods will be released no later than one month prior to event. If you chose the wrong division, no biggie! You can always switch!


All participants that register BEFORE May 26th will go home a TYR athlete T-Shirt!!

Flow:
Athletes will begin the workout behind the echo bike.
At 3,2,1,go the first athlete can begin the first round of 20 calories on the bike. Calories can be
split however the team chooses and there is no minimum work requirement on the echo bike.
Once 20 calories are complete, the athlete on the bike will tag their partner.
Athlete 1 will pick up their wall ball and complete a 16’ walking lunge, holding the wall ball any
style. They will then perform 12 wall balls. Once complete they will lunge 16’ and tag partner 2.
Athlete 2 will pick up their wall ball and complete a 16’ walking lunge, holding the wall ball any
style. They will then perform 12 wall balls. Once complete they will lunge 16’ and tag partner 1.
Athletes will then split 10 wall walks anyway they choose with the non working athlete standing
behind the lunge line.
Once either athlete finishes the 10th wall walk they will tag their partner then run back to the
bike and begin the next round.


Standards:
Echo Bike
• Athletes will start each round off the bike with the monitor set to 0.
• Athletes may set the bike to any height and change the height whenever they want.
• Athletes must keep both hands on the handles until the monitor reads 20.
Walking Lunge
• The athlete must start with both feet behind the start line and with the wall ball on the
ground.
• The athlete picks up the wall ball after the tag and can hold it anyway they choose.
• The athlete must step forward, alternating legs, to complete each lunge.
• At the bottom of each lunge, the trailing knee must make contact with the ground.
• The athlete must bring both feet together with the hips and legs fully extended.
Wall ball
• In the wall-ball shot, the medicine ball must be taken from the bottom of a squat, hip
crease below the knee, and thrown to hit the specified target.
• The center of the ball must hit the target at or above the specified target height. If the
ball hits low or does not hit the wall, it is a “no rep.”
• If the ball drops to the ground from the top, it cannot be caught off the bounce to begin
the next rep. The ball must settle on the ground before being picked up for the next rep
Wall Walk
• Every rep begins and ends with the athlete lying down, with their chest, feet, and
thighs touching the ground.
• Both hands must remain in place until both feet are on the wall.
• At the top of the movement, both hands must touch the tape line before the athlete can
descend.
• Any part of the hand may touch the tape line.
• The rep is credited when the athlete returns to the starting position, with both hands on
the ground and their chest, thighs, and feet touching the ground.
• Any part of the hand may make contact with the tape line.

Standards:
Deadlift
• The barbell starts on the ground. Collars must be placed outside the plates.
• The rep is credited when the athlete’s hips and knees reach full extension and the athlete’s
head and shoulders are behind the bar.
Hang Clean
• The first hang clean begins from the finished deadlift position. Athletes do not need to
establish this hang position for consecutive reps.
.• The bar may not pass below the knee.
• Hang power cleans, hang squat cleans, and hang split cleans are permitted.
• If the knee touches the floor during the attempt, the rep will not count.
• The rep is credited when the athlete’s hips and knees reach full extension and the bar is
supported in the front-rack position.
Front Squat
• The crease of the athlete’s hip must be clearly below the top of the knees at the bottom.
• The bar must remain in the front-rack position. The hands must remain on the bar.
• The rep is credited when the athlete’s hips and knees reach full extension while the bar is
supported in the front-rack position.
• Following the hang clean, the barbell must be in contact with the shoulders to begin the jerk. •
Jerk
• A press, push press, push jerk, or split jerk are all permitted as long as the required finish
position is achieved.
• The rep is credited when: - The barbell is locked out overhead, and arms, hips, and legs are
extended. - The bar is over or slightly behind the center of the athlete’s body, with feet in line.
• If the athlete fails the jerk and brings the barbell back to the front rack, the athlete may
reattempt the jerk.

Flow:
Athletes will begin the workout standing behind the 24’ scooter line.
At 3,2,1 go athletes will run forward towards the pullup bar and begin their first set of burpee
variation. Athlete may split the work however they want as long as they tag in between sets.
Once complete, athlete 1 will perform their 48’ scooter with partner 2 in a dead hang.
When athlete 1 finishes their 48’ scooter, the team may begin their toes to bar.
Athletes can split work anyway as long as they tag in between sets.
Once complete, athlete 2 will perform their 48’ scooter with partner 1 in a dead hang.
When athlete 2 finishes their 48’ scooter, the team will move together to the barbells and
perform their synchronized ground to overhead.


Standards

Burpee pullups
• Athletes must touch the chest and thighs to the ground at the bottom of each burpee.
• Athletes may choose to step or jump into this position.
• At the top of each burpee, complete a chest to bar pullup / pullup
• There is no hanging requirement during the pull-up.
• Athletes may: - Jump directly into the finish of the pull-up position, OR - Jump to the bar, hang,
then complete a pull-up (kipping or strict).
• The rep is credited when the athlete’s chest touches the bar or the athlete's chin breaks the
horizontal plane of the bar.
• Any style of pull-up is permitted.
Burpees to target:
• Athletes must touch the chest and thighs to the ground at the bottom of each burpee.
• Athletes may choose to step or jump into this position.
• At the top of each burpee, athletes must touch the pull-up bar with both hands at the same
time before returning to the ground for the next rep. If the athlete misses the pull-up bar with one
or both hands, they must repeat the touch. Repeating the full burpee is not required.
Scooter:
• Athletes will begin with both hands behind the line and feet on the scooter.
• Athlete will move their hands forward in a plank position until both hands pass the 24’ line.
• Athletes will then spin around and begin their next 24’ section with both hands starting behind
the line.
• Rep is complete once both hands pass the 24’ line.
• Athletes must pass directly under their partners in a dead hang and may not go around.
Bear Crawl:
• Athletes will begin with both hands behind the line.
• Athletes will move their hands forward with at least 1 hand and 1 foot on the ground at all
times.
• Athletes will then spin around and begin their next 24’ section with both hands starting behind
the line.
• Rep is complete once both hands pass the 24’ line.
• Athletes must pass directly under their partners in a dead hang and may not go around.
Toes to bar
• Begin by hanging from the pull-up bar with arms extended.
• Heels must be brought back behind the bar.
• Overhand, underhand, or mixed grips are all permitted.
• The rep is credited when both feet come in contact with the bar at the same time, between the
hands.
• Any part of the feet may make contact with the bar.
Leg Raises
• Begin by hanging from the pull-up bar with arms extended.
• Heels must be brought back behind the bar.
• Overhand, underhand, or mixed grips are all permitted.
• The rep is credited when both feet are raised above the waist.
• Legs may be straight or bent as long as both feet are above the waist.
Ground to Overhead
• Every rep begins with the barbell on the ground.
• Any variation of a snatch or clean and jerk is acceptable.
• Touch and go is permitted, but deliberately bouncing the barbell is not.
• Dropping from overhead is OK, but the bar must settle on the ground before the next rep.
• The rep is credited when both athletes are holding the barbell overhead with the hips, knees,
