Workouts
Format: Heats of up to 3 rowers at a time, completed upstairs in the Engine Room.
This is a classic test of aerobic power, mental toughness, and rowing efficiency. You’ll complete the full 2000 metres as fast as possible.
How it works:
Rowers will compete in small heats of up to 3 people.
Each athlete rows their own 2000m on separate machines.
You control your own pace and strategy — go for a new PB, even splits, or an all-out effort.
Your individual time will be recorded and added to the Record Breakers leaderboard.
Format: One big heat — all participants start together.
This is a pure test of running endurance, mental grit, and pacing. You’ll complete 5 kilometres on the scenic Amesbury Loop pathway.
How it works:
Everyone starts at the same time in a single heat.
The course is 10 laps of the Amesbury Loop pathway (exactly 5000m).
Run at your own pace — chase a new personal best, aim for consistent laps, or simply finish strong.
Lap splits and overall time will be recorded for the Record Breakers leaderboard.
Format: One lifter at a time, with the barbell weight increasing progressively throughout the session.
You can take as many attempts as you want — keep going until you hit your best lift of the day or decide to call it. This is your opportunity to set a new personal record on the bench in a supportive, focused environment.
Standard competition-style rules apply for a valid lift: - Shoulders, upper back, and glutes must remain in contact with the bench throughout the lift.
- Feet flat on the floor (or on plates if needed).
- Controlled descent until the bar touches your chest.
- Press the bar straight up and lock out the elbows fully at the top with the bar under control.
- No excessive bouncing off the chest or bridging.
Format: Heats of up to 3 athletes at a time.
This is a short, explosive test of pure anaerobic power and leg speed on the Bike Erg. You’ll sprint 200 metres as hard as you possibly can.
How it works:
Athletes will compete in small heats of up to 3 people.
Each rider performs their own 200m sprint on separate bikes.
You’ll go all-out for maximum power and speed from the start.
Your individual time will be recorded and added to the Record Breakers leaderboard.
Format: One lifter at a time, with the barbell weight increasing progressively throughout the session.
You can take as many attempts as you want — keep going until you hit your best lift of the day or decide to call it. This is your chance to test explosive power, strength, and coordination with the full Olympic lift.
How it works:
You’ll perform your attempts one at a time while the group cheers you on.
Weights will start lighter and increase as lifters progress.
Power or squat clean is permitted, and you may use either split jerk or push jerk.
Standard rules for a valid lift:
- The bar must move from the floor to the shoulders in one continuous movement (the Clean).
- From the shoulders, the bar is then driven overhead and locked out (the Jerk).
- At the finish, the bar must be overhead with arms fully extended, feet in line, hips and knees extended, and the lifter stable under the bar.
