About This Competition
Date : 5/10 (May)
Time : 9am - 4pm (we may end early)
Location : Apex Training - 2697 Mill St. (on the south side of the GSR water resevoir)
The UNKNOWN is a one-of-a-kind and unique competition where the athletes get to truly test their grit and mental toughness by attacking events and varying style and format without any prior knowledge or time to practice. At Apex, we've always thought the true test to being a well-rounded funcitonal athlete is being prepared for the Unknown and unknowable.
This year, we're looking for same-sex teams of 2 to come out and crush it! There will be 4 guaranteed events plus a final event for the top teams!
We will have the Scaled division for novice athletes who have the spirit to compete, but may be lacking in the high skill and heavy weight movements.
We will have the Masters division for athletes who are 40+ in age, but still love to throw down for their community!
Last, but not least, we have the Rx division for the athletes who truly are prepared for anything!

A) 40/32 : Sandbag Pick-Ups (100/75)
B) 70/52 cal : Echo Bike

A) Max Weight Complex (Power Clean + Hang Squat Clean + 2 Front Squats)
- 1 athlete working at a time
- each athlete must register at least 2 full attempts for a full score
- - Penalty : Subtract 100/65 lbs from the total.
- The Team's final attempt must be fully complete before the time cap.

A) 100 Wall Balls (16/12 lb) - Shared reps
- Partner must be in Dead Hang
B) 50 : Jumping Pull-Ups - Shared reps
- Partner must hold a Wall Ball Front Raise Squat at parallel.

- Relay Style
A) 100 m (2 x 50 m) : Water Jug Carry (100/70)
- Bear Hug or Fireman style permitted
B) 10 reps : Water Jug Squats
- Bear Hug or Fireman style permitted as long as the athlete breaks parallel, and the arms don't touch the legs during the squat.

* Each length of Carry = 1 rep
- - If for some reason, an athlete is unable to finish their work, they can tag their partner in and they can finish what they started.
AMRAP - 10 min
- Partners will alternate working minutes.
- During the working minutes, athletes will choose between the following movements to accumulate maximum points.
- Teams must complete/attempt reps of at least 2 different movements during each working minute.
A) Rope Climbs (15/14 ft) (Jumping Allowed)
- Legless = 10 pts
- Regular = 5 pts
B) Alt Sng DB Squat Snatch (50/35) = 1 pt
- Can Power Snatch to OHS if needed
C) Reverse Bear Crawl (2 mats) = 2 pts
