About This Competition
Hello all newbie fitness competitors and spectators! On October 8th, Elevate Athletics of Trail, Maverick Strength of Nelson and Fitbox of Castlegar are hosting the Kootenay Klash fitness competition!
Divisions: There will be two divisions
1. Scaled: For those who've been training consistently for 6-12 months and have no experience with competition.
2. Intermediate:- For the athlete who's been partaking in functional fitness/crossfit style training for up to 2 years and is looking to test their fitness or have little to no competitive experience. They should be able to show above average fitness competency.
Each division will be capped at 12 teams of 2 people. These teams can be coed, or same sex. Prizes will be given to the top 3 teams of each division based on a portion of registration sales, along with T-shirts to all participants. Additional t-shirts will also be for sale.
Our Mission Is Community:
The focus of this competition is to build a connection between local gyms here in the kootenays while enjoying a fun filled day of competitive fitness for competitors and spectators alike. We will have the BBQ going with food and drinks for sale.
First event will begin at 9am and should end by 3pm-3:30pm. There will be a social event afterward from 3:30-4:30 for those who wish to chat afterward. This will be a dry event, so we ask that you don't bring alcohol.
Pricing and Refund Policy
Registration will be $100+tax per team.
There will be no refunds for registrants and all shirts are final sale.
Entry for spectators will be FREE.

Workouts
Teams must complete the following work, split up whatever way they choose
- 80 American Kb Swings @24/16kg (Scaled 20/12kg)
- 80 Box Step Ups 24/20” 2x50/35lb (scaled: 35/20 and 24/20" box)
- 80 Medball Situps 20/14lbs (Scaled 14/10lbs)
- 80 SA Alt DB Snatch 50/35lbs (Scaled 35/20lbs)
BUY OUT- Run 400m as a team (time ends when both teammates cross the finish line)
18 minute cap
Scaled (60 reps per movement)
Event 3 is a two part event with the first being a bike sprint with the remaining time to establish a 4 rep max back squat. There will be 6 minutes to complete both the bike and the squat The second part of this event will be shown as a seperate event.
- Intermediate: Complete 30/25 cals on the bike as fast as you can
- Scaled: Complete 25/20 cals on the bike as fast as you can
After completing the bike, in the remaning time work to a heavy set of 4 back squats
- Score is heaviest set completed of 4 reps
womens score is 1.4x
One partner working at a time
- can be split whatever way the team desires
- Bike 40/32cal INT (Scaled 30/24cals) mixed pairs for INT- 36cals SC- 27cals
- Barbell Thruster x40 @95/65lbs (Scaled 65/45lbs)
- TTB x40 (scaled knee raises to above parallel)
- 80m Front rack walking lunges w/barbell same weight as thruster
- Max cal bike in remaining time (this will be what the event is scored based on)
17 min cap
*Score is determined by max calories accumulated on the bike by each team. The time it takes to finish the initial part of the workout is considered a buy in and is not scored.
For Time=
- Part A: Row 60/48 cals (Scaled 50/40)
- Partner B: 30 Burpee Box Jump overs to 24/20” box (scaled is a burpee step over)
- Partner A: 30 Burpee Box Jump overs to 24/20" box (scaled is a burpee step over)
- Partner B: Row 60/48cals (Scaled 50/40)
*only one partner working at a time. Partners must finish their respective exercises before the other person can start theirs. Judges are responsible for notifying individuals when to start each movement.
