About This Competition

Individual Competition will be Saturday, October 29th

Team Competition will be Sunday, October 30th

Teams will consist of 2 men and 2 women

There will be Rx and Intermediate Divisions on both days

No refunds

Substitutions allowed

Bring food, chairs, water, etc.

No pets allowed

Parking in front and behind the building

Fitness Proven Competitions and Big Shoulders CrossFit have paired up to bring you The Chi-Town Throwdown 2022!

All athletes will receive a welcome pack including a t-shirt, shaker bottle, and more!

Almost $10,000 in podium prize CASH!

Cash prizes for Rx divisions only. Cash prizes will be a percentage of registration sign-ups. Should the competition sell out, here are the cash prizes:

The Chi-Town Throwdown is a 1-day individual and 1-day team event hosted by Big Shoulders CrossFit in Elmhurst, IL.

All 4 athletes will be on the floor at the same time. This event has an 8-minute time cap. Athletes can go in any order, but weight can only be added to the bar.

Event 3 begins exactly 1 minute after the time cap of Event 2.

Athletes MUST begin moving their bar @ the call of GO! to begin event 3. Any significant delay in starting will result in a score of 0.

MM/FF pairs

Female pair starts on the bar, male pair starts on the bike, once both are done, weight on the bar goes up and pairs switch. Then women bike, men do snatch. Once both are done, bar weight stays the same and women begin cleans, men begin bike, repeat the pattern until final set of cals are done for women, and deadlifts are done for men.

Pair 1 starts on the TTB and pair 2 starts on the rower. Once both pairs are done, they switch. Once both pairs have done 3 sets of 25 synchro ttb, and the corresponding 3 sets on the rower, the workout is complete.

*rower display must be reset for each athlete. This includes between the male and female in the same pair. i.e. after male 1 has done 15 cals, the screen must be reset before female 1 can begin her 10 cals.
