World Gym Athletics at World Gym Ingram Park is challenging San Antonio and our surrounding area to compete in our 1st annual World Gym Athletics Battle at the Bar!


2 divisions: Scaled and Intermediate. 

All competitors will receive an exclusive shirt! Must register by November 5, 2019 for shirts!

This competition is ideal for first time competitors that are looking for a challenge. 

Come and enjoy 4 great workouts with your partner!

**FLOATER** 

Athletes can go at any time during the event to perform at this session. Must be completed before the competition is over. 


3-Min AMSAP (as many shuttles as possible)

80m Shuttle Run

How many shuttle runs can you and your partner get in 3 minutes? Only one person can work at a time.





Session 1: Jump In! 

For time: Relay Style! Switch after each movement. (10-Min Cap)


Both partners will stand at starting position. On go, one athlete will stay on bumper plate while their teammate performs the movement. Once successfully completed, partner A will tag partner B in and switch after each movement. 


Intermediate:

5 Burpees

10 Box Jumps 20in ht for female/ 24in ht for male

15 TTB

20 KB Swings (American) 35/53#

100 Jump Rope Singles


Scaled:

5 Half Burpees ​(no push-up, no jump)

10 Box Step-ups (5/5 for each leg) to 20in ht for women, 24in ht for men

15 Knee Raises

Session 2: Snatch Me If You Can 

6-Min to Find Max Snatch for both Partners (Scaled: Power Snatch or Hang Power Snatch)​


Athletes will start outside their lifting area (8x8). On 3, 2, 1, go. Athletes can enter their area and begin to load the empty barbell. Only one partner is allowed in the space for lift to count. The heaviest bumper plate must be loaded first each time and clips must be on. 

Snatch: Barbell must begin on the ground. Athlete must take bar from ground to overhead squat in one movement. Arms must lock out and athlete must finish in hip extension for lift to count.  Wait for the judge to give the ok before dropping the bar. 

Power Snatch or Hang Power Snatch: We understand what it is like to learn a snatch. We are going to offer the scaled division the option to take it from the hang position if they feel more comfortable that way. Athlete will get a no lift if they catch barbell at parallel or lower in the scaled division. Athletes must take the bar from ground (or hang) to overhead in one movement and catch it in a power position (above parallel) with arms fully extended. Athlete must finish with hips extended for judge to give the okay. 





Session 3: Conquer the Beast

For time: (18-min time cap)

60 Team Total Med Ball Chest Tosses - 14lb ball for women and 20lb ball for men, 9.6 ft away from each other (3 Burpee Penalty for both athletes if ball drops to ground)
