About This Competition
ENDORPHIN – HYBRID RACING – PAIRS
We’re bringing the energy of hybrid racing to Canberra with an on-site, high-intensity pairs competition designed to test strength, engine, and teamwork.
This event combines structured running and functional workout stations in a fast-paced race format. Built for competitive and everyday athletes, it’s your opportunity to perform in a high-standard race environment.
Event Structure
Format: Pairs Competition
Teams of two will work through a structured hybrid race event, completing designated running distances and workout stations together. Athletes must move through the course in order, adhering to prescribed standards for their division.
Categories:
Male + Male
Female + Female
Male + Female
Divisions:
PEAK (Advanced)
Prescribed loads and movement standards. Designed for experienced athletes looking to race at high intensity.
VIBE (Scaled)
Accessible loading and movement standards. Designed for regular gym-goers wanting to challenge themselves in a supportive yet competitive environment.
Event Details
Date: 18 April 2026
Location: Walt & Burley - 70/17 Eastlake Parade, Kingston ACT 2604
Athlete Check-In:
Athletes must check in 60 minutes prior to their allocated start time.
Heat Times:
Official heat allocations will be released closer to the event date via email and social media.
Judging & Movement Standards
Athletes must:
Confirm their team name and division with their judge prior to racing.
Follow all prescribed movement standards and workout flow requirements.
Judges:
Each lane will have a dedicated volunteer judge who will ensure movement standards are met. Workout flow is completed as prescribed. Accurate race time is recorded.
Important Event Details and Policies
Team Substitutions / Refunds:
Teams may make changes to their lineup up until 9:00pm Tuesday, 15 April 2026. No substitutions will be accepted after this deadline.
All registrations are final. No refunds will be issued under any circumstances.
Medical & Liability Waiver:
All participants must complete the waiver attached during online registration.
Photography & Videography:
An on-site media team will be capturing the event. By competing, athletes consent to being photographed and filmed for promotional use.
Parking & Spectators:
Parking is available opposite Rosa’s on Parkes Way. Spectators are welcome and encouraged to attend and support.
Tie-Break & Penalty Rules:
To be confirmed and released prior to race day.

Workouts
ASSAULT RUNNER:
- One for one effort
- Use the handles for entry and exist of the machine
- Once you have completed your assigned distance > Raise your hand for a judge to confirm before proceeding to the next station
DUAL DB THRUSTER:
- One for one effort
- You will have an assigned judge to ensure movement standards and repetitions are being met
- DB’s must be on the floor between transitions
- DB’s Must start ontop of shoulders before squatting for your first rep
- Hips must hit below knee height at the bottom of the squat
- Elbows must reach full lock out at the top to complete one full repetition
- Anyone who fails to meet these movement standards will be no-repped by your assigned judge for this station
- Your judge will confirm once you have completed your assigned repetitions as a pair, before proceeding to the next station
SKI ERG:
- One for one effort
- You may adjust fan settings as you desire
- You are allowed to pass handles to your partner or place them back between transitions
- Once you have completed your assigned calories > Raise your hand for a judge to confirm before proceeding to the next station
MED BALL CARRY:
- One for one effort
- Partner 1 complete one full lap (100m) while partner waits in the transition zone
- Once partner 1 competes one full lap they will pass the MB to partner 2 who will then compete 1 full lap (100m) to complete this station
- A judge will ensure you have collected the correct MB weight for your division
- The MB must be carried in the bear hug position
- You must complete one full lap (100m) each before proceeding to the next station
BIKE ERG:
One for one effort
You may adjust seat height and fan settings as you desire
Once you have completed your assigned distance > Raise your hand for a judge to confirm before proceeding to the next station
BOX JUMP OVER / STED DOWN: PEAK + MIX ONLY
- One for one effort
- You will have an assigned judge to ensure movement standards and repetitions are being met
- You must take off and land on the box with two feet
- You must step down the opposite side of the box, both feet making contact on the floor of the opposite side before commencing your next repetition
- You DO NOT have to reach full extension
- Anyone who fails to meet these movement standards will be no-repped by your assigned judge for this station
- Your judge will confirm once you have completed your assigned repetitions as a pair, before proceeding to the next station
BOX STEP OVER: VIBE ONLY
- One for one effort
- You will have an assigned judge to ensure movement standards and repetitions are being met
- You must step up onto the box and land on the box with two feet
- You must step down the opposite side of the box, both feet making contact on the floor of the opposite side before commencing your next repetition
- You DO NOT have to reach full extension
- Anyone who fails to meet these movement standards will be no-repped by your assigned judge for this station
ROW ERG:
- One for one effort
- You may adjust fan settings as you desire
- You must place handles back into the row erg between transitions
- Once you have completed your assigned calories > Raise your hand for a judge to confirm before proceeding to the next station
400m RUN TO FINISH:
- As a pair you will run 400m TOGETHER
- This leg will be a 200m out and back where you will compete the workout at the finish line
- You must run together for the full length of the 400m run, including the passing of the finish line

Race Format Expectations:
- All machines, ergs and functional workout stations may be divided between teammates as desired.
- Teams must adopt a “one work, one rest” approach at all stations (only one athlete working at a time unless otherwise stated).
- Each station must be fully completed before progressing to the next.
- Teams must move through the course in order and adhere to their division’s prescribed standards.
- The final 400m run must be completed together to pass the finish line.
Strategy, communication, and workload distribution are up to each team — but execution, movement standards, and race flow will be strictly monitored by judges
