About This Competition

Fall Brawl is a 4-person team functional fitness competition hosted by CrossFit Lorton. This event is geared to the Beginner and Intermediate competitor. We have hosted other beginner events and found the WODs to be lacking so we decided to bring what we think is a better competition to the local community.  This will be our second year hosting Fall Brawl!

CrossFit Lorton has been hosting these events since 2013 and we have run events with up to 320 athletes and over 250 spectators in our 10,000 sq foot facility that has been built specifically to host these types of competitions!  No other gym in the area can handle this.  We treat these beginner and intermediate events like a major competition- there are sponsors, vendors, massage and recovery, an event emcee and announcer.  We give you the experience of the big events in one geared towards the beginner and intermediate athlete!

Teams can be MMMM, FFFF, MMFF and there will be Beginner and Intermediate divisions. Standards for each division will be put out as we get closer to the event.  The WODs will be announced weeks ahead of time so that any division changes can be made and you can practice before the event.  

This will be the largest Beginner/Intermediate Competition in the DMV.  We Sold Out Fall Brawl 2017 and Spring Fling 2018. This event will be limited to 80 Teams so get signed up now, it will sell out!

**No Refunds, team exchanges and division changes can be made up to the week of the event.  

***Athlete swaps on a team can be made up to the morning of the event as long as division stays the same.

This is a take off on the Hero WOD Hammer minus the Pull Ups. Teams will break into pairs, pairs can be any gender mix for MMFF teams but the pairs have to stay together through the entire workout. This workout will have 2 Scores! Part 1 5 Power Clean 10 Front Squat 5 Jerk Part 2 Max Calories on Echo Bike 10 Minute AMRAP Weights: Intermediate 135/95 Beginner 115/75 Pair 1 will start on the barbell and do 2 Full rounds of the Barbell work broken up however they want, Pair 2 will be doing Max Calories on the Echo Bike. After 2 rounds the pairs will rotate and Pair 2 will do 2 rounds on the barbell and Pair 1 will be on the bike. There is 1 person working at a time on the barbell and 1 person on the bike. This will be a 2 score Workout

Part 2 Max Rep Deadlift in 4 Minutes



Teams will be broken into pairs. Pairs must be same sex for this workout. Pair 1 will start with 10 Synchro Burpees (finishing to a 10 lb plate) they will then do 20 Alternating Wall Balls. While Pair 1 is working 1 person in Pair 2 must hold a Bar at the top of a Deadlift position. The Pair holding the bar can switch however they want but no work can be completed unless the Deadlift bar is off the ground. Pairs will alternate rounds for a 7 Minute AMRAP. At the end of 7 Minute Part 2 will begin and the team will have 4 Minutes to complete as many Deadlifts as possible. The Deadlifts can be broken up however you want. This will be a 2 score workout- 1 score for the AMRAP and another for the Deadlifts. 10 Synchro Burpees 20 Alternating Wall Ball 7 Min AMRAP Part 2 Max Deadlift 4 Min AMRAP Weights- Wall Ball Intermediate 20/14 Beginner 14/10 Deadlift Intermediate 225/155 Beginner 185/125

WOD 3 will also be a 2 Part workout with 2 separate scores. Part 1 30 Box Step Overs with 1 Dumbbell 30 Power Snatch AMRAP 12 Minutes Part 2 Row- Meters AMRAP 12 Minutes Weights: Step Over Intermediate 50/35 All Step to 20 inch Box Beginner 35/20 All Step to a 16 inch Box. Power Snatch Intermediate 95/65 Beginner 75/55 Dumbbell must be held in a Goblet Squat type position. This workout can be broken up however you want, there is no set pairs or structure. The team has to do an AMRAP on Part 1 while also rowing for Max Meters, again how you break this up is up to you. There will always be 2 people working one on the rower and one on the Step Overs and Power Snatch.
