APE GAMES 2025
At theFITEXPO.
Anaheim Convention Center. Anaheim, CA


We are super excited to bring back our APE GAMES this year at one of the biggest and most fun fitness events of the year, TheFITEXPO, at the Anaheim Convention Center!


This is a chance for athletes of ALL LEVELS to test their skills in two events and qualify for the finals.. In a fun and welcoming environment that offers a chance to give it your all and leave it on the floor.

And… Did we mention?
We are giving away thousands in CASH PRIZES!! PLUS FREE ENTRY to the EXPO.

 

*This is a ONE day event.

Run twice, August 2nd & August 3rd

Meaning athletes will finish all events in ONE day and final scores are based on the two days, and released on Sunday.

THIS YEAR. ALL athletes will complete 3 events (there will be no "Finalists Event"

SCORING

Total score is the SUM all ALL 3 EVENTS.
All points from each event will be tallied and
placements will be posted at completion of
each event.
Upon finalization of BOTH DAYS the “Grand
Champions” will be announced and posted
along with 2nd and 3rd.

Entry and Check in

CHECK IN -  
Check in starts at 8am
We will have a check-in booth in the lobby in front of the Main Entry doors to the hall B
You must Check in at booth BEFORE entering the hall.
*We recommend arriving 1hr before your wave time.

**FINAL HEAT TIMES WILL BE ON COMPETITORS WRISTBANDS. Competitors MUST FOLLOW THE **EXACT TIMES ON THE WRISTBANDS**

**WE HAVE A RECORD FOR RUNNING COMPETITION ON THE VERY EXACT MINUTE** There is ABSOLUTELY NO WAITING ON ATHLETES**

 

**We recommend athletes being at warm up area 30minutes before their time**


Spectators are allowed in at regular opening time (10am)
Entry is FREE for ALL competitors
Friends and Family will need to purchase entry to the Expo

Workouts

Athlete will have to carry a water jug for 20meters to designated place to then proceed to perform Calories on SkiErg then proceed  to  Barbell to perform 5 reps of Ground to overhead. This sequence is to be repeated 3 TIMES.

Upon completion of all three rounds athlete will have to sprint/carry water Jugs back to original postion 1 by 1. Time will be stopped and recorde after last jug is put in proper place.

MOVEMENT STANDARD


WATER JUG CARRY

Jug can be carried in anyway and placed past the end line.

 

GROUND-TO-OVERHEAD

Consists of moving the Barbell from the

Ground-to-Overhead

Every rep begins with the barbell on the ground. Any variation of a snatch or clean and jerk is acceptable. Touch and go is permitted, but deliberately bouncing the barbell is not. Dropping from overhead is OK, but the bar must settle on the ground before the next rep.

The barbell must come to full lockout overhead with the hips, knees and arms fully extended.

Athlete must perform 20m of backwards Overhead Toss until reaching end line to then proceed to picking up a weighted bag and throw it over an obstacle 4' tall, and finish by jumping the obstacle over. This Throw-over-jump-over process must be repeated 10 times. Once all reps have been acheived Athlete must once again perfrom backwards overhead toss the length of course back to starting point. Time is completed once ball is over end line.

MOVEMENT STANDARDS

- Overhead backwards toss

You will face away from the start line, grab the ball with both hands and throw it over the head behind your (throwing over the shoulder is a NO REP) until you pass the 20m line.
You must be stationary prior to a throw—no hopping, stepping, or running with ball to initiate the throw.
Ball must go from the ground and clearly pass over the top of the athlete’s head on each throw.

- Sandbag Over Wall
Sandbag must be picked up off the ground every time, and throw over the top of the wall, resting bag on top of wall and push off is also allowed.
Athlete must jump or go over the wall immediately AFTER the sandbag touches the ground. Athlete may not pass over the wall holding the bag.
Standing on the sandbag to go over the wall is not allowed.
Landing on the sandbag after going over the wall is allowed but not recommended. (Ankles can be easily sprained this way)

Athletle must hold kettlebells above head and front lunge walk 8meters. Upon reaching said distance with BOTH feet and kettlebells at or pass the end line, athlete must perform (from ground) 5 log clean reps. once completed athlete will proceed with OH walking lunges for another 8meters to perform 7 log clean reps, to then continue with the last 8meters of OH walking lunges and finish this segment performing 9 log clean reps.

Once total distance is completed and allocated reps are performed at each grid site Athlete must farmers carry UNBROKEN total distance traveled back to starting point.Time will be stopped and recorded when distance is covered (UNBROKEN) and athleted passes line.

MOVEMENT STANDARD

Double Kettlebell Overhead Walking Lunge:

Both KBs must be OH and cannot be touching the athlete’s head. Elbows do not need to be locked out⁣. Knee touches the ground with each step and hips must pass through full extension⁣. Both feet must touch marking line with KBs STILL OH and hips/ knees at full extension to finish the rep⁣.

Log Clean:

Starting from the ground lift the log up the chest. Log can be rowed from the ground to the lap before coming to the chest. Elbows must be high and pointed forward, forearm must come at least a vertical position.
