About This Competition

The Next Chapter: The Weekend Warrior

Over the years we have had the honor of hosting some incredible Throwdowns. We have seen Games athletes all the way through beginners come out and put on a show and create moments that will forever be part of our story. Our goal has always been the same - to put on a well-run, flawless, challenging competition, but most importantly, create an amazing athlete experience...

But somewhere along the way we lost the heart and passion of why we started this in the first place. Because of the mental, physical, and financial strain that The 615 Throwdown had turned into, after 6 years and more than 10 competitions, we have decided to make a change.

This shift isn't about lowering the bar - it's about raising the good vibes. So we are going back to our roots.

Moving forward our Throwdowns will look a little different. We are shifting away from the large venues and going back to where it all started, in our home affiliate at CrossFit Nolensville. Stepping away from the big crowds and the flashy prizes, and scaling back to a smaller, community based competition with the same 615 Throwdown experience. We want to bring in the weekend warriors, the everyday athletes who show up for the fun of competition, the community, and the challenge - not necessarily for the money and the podium.

The Weekend Warrior series is about creating a competitive environment that is low stress, high energy, and full of heart. A place where anyone can show up, Throwdown, and feel like a warrior just for stepping into the arena. Excited to bring the fun back to fitness.

Come join us for the first leg of our 3 part series on July 19th. Teams of 2 - MM, MF, FF. RX & Scaled Divisions. Smaller venue = smaller field of athletes. We are capping each division at 10 teams. This competition will have 4 events and an expected run time of 9am - 4pm.

Podium Prizes provided by our sponsors! 1st - 3rd place in each division will receive sponsor prize packs (no cash prizes for this event).

Score 1: Combined time on Row

Score 2: Total Weight* (tiebreaker is Row total)

Workout Details:

As of now, the clock will be set up on a 5:00 x 3 interval clock. Athlete will start seated on the rower with handle in the rack. On "Go" A1 will work to complete their designated distance for time with a 5:00 time cap (any unfinished meters will be added as penalty time to the 5:00 cap). Directly at the 5:00 cap, a new 5:00 interval will start. A1 will move to the 5RM FS and A2 will start their distance row. This will continue for one more interval, then A2 will move to the bar for a 3rm Shoulder to Overhead.

*Athletes will be completing their 5rm and 3rm FROM THE RIG/RACK. Any failed attempt that hits the floor will need to be re-racked to the rig before another attempt can be made. Any failed attempt that does not go to the floor can be reattempted (staying in the front rack position) without a re-rack to the rig.

*Athletes may lower the weight after a failed attempt. Unlimited attemps allowed.

*The barbell will start empty for the 5RM Front Squat; however, once the athlete finishes the row they can load their barbell even if the new interval has not started. Athletes cannot attempt nor warm up the barbell until the working interval starts. A1 can help A2 set up their barbell for the S2OH.

*Athletes may work past their 5:00 working window as long as it is unracked from the rig prior to clock expiration.
