The Ludus Games
About This Competition
Step into the arena at The Ludus Games, an epic same-sex pairs CrossFit competition at Dominus CrossFit!
Inspired by legendary gladiatorial contests and the rich Roman history of York, this event challenges same-sex teams of two to test their strength, endurance, and teamwork in a battle for freedom & glory.
Athletes will face off in two categories: Murmillo (Rx) and Retiarii (Scaled).
Taking inspiration from the most heavily armoured gladiators, the Murmillo (Rx) Category will take on heavier weights (e.g. 60/40kg Barbells and Sandbags, 22.5/15kg Dumbbells etc), higher-skill gymnastics (e.g. Bar Muscle Ups, Chest-to-Bar Pull Ups, Wall Walks etc), and the fiercest of competition.
The Retiarii (Scaled) division (named after lighter armoured & more agile fighters) will see lighters weights including 50/30kg Barbells/Sandbags, 15/10kg Dumbbells, and adjusted challenges/more accessible variations of movements (e.g. Kipping Leg Raise for Toes-to-Bar etc) so you can leave feeling accomplished no matter your ability level!
On the day, there will also be multiple vendors including Inov8, Gripcure, LMNT and more!
This is your chance to enter the arena with a mate and claim victory together. Will the competition prove too fierce or will you rise to the occasion and emerge as champions of The Ludus Games?

7:00 AMRAP:
12 Deadlifts @ 60/40kg (Sync)
9 Hang Power Cleans (Sync)
6 Shoulder-to-Overhead (Sync)

Then 4:00 to establish 1RM Deadlift + Hang Clean + STOH
Score: rounds and reps + the combined weight lifted of both athletes

- 15 Dumbbell Hang Clusters @ 2 x 22.5/15kg (Sync)
- 36 Pull-Ups (Shared)
- 12 DB Hang Clusters @ 2 x 22.5/15kg (Sync)
- 24 Chest-to-Bar Pull-Ups (Shared)
