About This Competition

Bringing you New Zealand's only Master Athlete Specific Individual Online Competition, over 2 weeks.  

Four workouts over 2 weeks, with the top 8 in each age category and division going forward to battle it out in the one day in person final.

Competition dates, two workouts will be released each week, will run from April 28th through to May 11th 2025.   Result submission must be in by 11:59AM (MIDDAY) each Sunday the 4th and 11th May.

The final in person competition held in Auckland for top 8 in each division will be on November 8th 2025.

Masters New Zealand is catering for athletes aged 35 years and over, in 6 age categories.

Masters can choose from two divisions:

Scaled or Pro

45-49

50-54

55-59

60-64 Scaled

65+ Scaled

60+ Pro

 

Workouts can be done at home, gym or your box.  Get your family and friends together and have some fun before the end of the year.  

Must be 35 years old by 1st November 2025.

Variations:


Flow

On the count of 3,2,1 go the  Athlete starts under the rig and completes 20 reps of Toes to Bar. After 20 reps are completed, the athlete moves to their barbell and starts 20 Deadlifts.  The Barbell starts on the floor and the rep ends when the athlete is at full extension with shoulders,hips and knees in a line and locked out.  Then the Athlete starts under the rig and completes 18 reps of Toes to Bar.  After the Athlete moves to the barbell starts the hang clean.  The barbell is lifted off the floor and into the hang position from here the barbell is cleaned into the front rack, each rep ends with the bar in the front rack and hips/knees fully extended. After the 18th rep, the athlete returns to the rig to perform 16 Toes to Bar before moving back to the barbell for 16 Shoulder to Overhead.  With the barbell in the front rack, the Athlete can  use any method (push press, push jerk, etc.) to bring the bar overhead. For the rep to count the finish position must be: bar locked out, body extended, feet together. After the 14th rep, the Athlete returns to the rig to complete 14 Toes to Bar.  Once complete the Athlete returns to the barbell for 14 Snatches either power or squat. The rep ends with the bar overhead, fully locked out, body extended. After the 14th rep the athlete returns to the rig for a final set of 12 Toes to Bar. After the 12th rep the athlete then returns to the barbell for the final time and completes 12 Thrusters.  The rep ends with the bar overhead, body extended. On the completion of the 12th Rep Time is taken.

Time Cap 15 minutes
Any incompleted reps please add those to the time cap NOT total reps as asked for by competition corner.

8 10m Shuttles (5m Out/5m Back =1 Rep)

8 Single Arm Devil Press

Flow:

With the coned area marked out to 5m.  The Athlete starts behind the line and runs forward out 5m turns and returns to come back to the start. Both feet must clearly be over the 5m line and will equal one rep. This will happen 8 times before the Athlete then picks up the dumbbell and performs 8 Alternating Single Arm Devil Press.  This pattern will continue until the clock hits 8 mins.  Score is Reps.

Round 3: 9 Pull Ups, 9 Wall Balls and 18 Double Unders
