Welcome to the Rainhill Winter 2022 - powered by NOCCO UK

Taking place at SPORTCITY in MANCHESTER over the weekend of SATURDAY 12TH FEBRUARY and SUNDAY 13TH FEBRUARY this no qualifier event is designed to open competition to any and all regardless of your experience. Athletes have completed a series of seeding workouts, the results of which have placed them in one of four levels of competition: Rocket (top level), Kennedy, Rastrick and Wood.

Athetes in the Rastrick and Wood divisions will compete on SATURDAY 12TH FEBRUARY

Athletes in the Rocket and Kennedy divisions will compete on SUNDAY 13TH FEBRUARY

All athletes will complete four workouts before a cut to the top 15 in each division for a final event.

Spectator tickets are now on-sale for the event at a cost of £10. Tickets are for the full weekend, no single day tickets are available. Under 16 are free of charge accompanied by a paying adult. Tickets will be available on the door but at a cost of £15. No animals permitted in the venue unfortunately.

Athletes have access to the venue for the entire weekend. It is not necessary to buy a separate spectator ticket for the day you are not competing.

Workouts

5 minutes to establish a maximum weight for the complex

Bars must be under control at all times. Any weight which is dropped in an uncontrolled fashion and leaves the platform will result in a no-rep for the complex.

Male athletes will have a 20kg bar, female athletes a 15kg bar, along with a pair of each of 20kg, 15kg, 10kg, 5kg, 2.5kg and 1.25kg – a total weight of 127.5kg for males and 122.5kg for females. If you believe you will require additional weight on the day please make your judge aware of this BEFORE your workout begins.

WOD 2 will begin 2 minutes after completion of WOD 1

Athletes will load their own bar in the rest period

Workout 3 is a two part workout with two separate scores available

There is a total time window of 8 minutes for both parts of the workout

Rocket: 125kg/80kg, step ups are NOT permitted

Kennedy: 115kg/70kg, step ups are NOT permitted

Rastrick: 100kg/55kg, step ups ARE permitted

Wood:90kg/45kg, step ups ARE permitted

Optional no penalty scale to banded pull ups – you will receive 1 pull up credit for each 2 banded pull ups performed. The bands used are purple Bulldog Gear bands - 3cm (1 1/8 inches) wide with a resistance of 10-35 KG.

Optional no penalty scale to 40 x SU per round – you will receive 1 DU credit for each 2 SU performed.

Wood:

10 x Double unders

10 x Box over (step ups ARE permitted)

5 x Standard pull ups

Optional no penalty scale to banded pull ups – you will receive 1 pull up credit for each 2 banded pull ups performed. The bands used are purple Bulldog Gear bands - 3cm (1 1/8 inches) wide with a resistance of 10-35 KG.
