About This Competition

The Torian Pro is the offical CrossFit Games Semifinal Event for Oceania.

Alongside the Elite athletes battling it out to earn a spot at the CrossFit Games Final, this annual event brings together CrossFit Athletes and fans from around the world to celebrate fitness, friendship and fun.

From Emerging to Elite and Teens to Masters, there’s an opportunity for everyone to compete at the Torian Pro.

All athletes, from Emerging to Elite, must earn their way to the Torian Pro by taking part in the 2021 CrossFit Games Open, the largest participatory sporting event in the world.

This year for the first time ever the CrossFit Games Open will provide the pathway for athletes in all divisions to earn their Pro Card.

Workouts

9-7-5 reps for time:

Bar muscle ups

Squat snatches 61/43kg


Time cap: 8 minutes


This event begins with the athlete on the starting mat. At the sound of the beep, they will move forward to the rig and perform 9 bar muscle ups. Once 9 bar muscle ups are complete, the athlete will move to the barbell for 9 squat snatches. Once 9 squat snatches are complete the athlete will move down the lane and advance their chess piece to the next section. Next they will return back to the rig to perform 7 bar muscle ups, and then 7 squat snatches before again moving down the lane to advance their chess piece to the next section. Finally the athlete will perform 5 bar muscle ups, and 5 squat snatches before moving over the bar and running to the finish line.

 


Scoring:

The athlete’s score is the total time it takes for them to complete the event.

1 rep max clean & jerk


Time cap 6 minutes ⏱


Athletes will have 6 minutes to find a 1RM clean and jerk. The weight on the bar may go up or down as desired and the athlete may take as many attempts as they like.

 

Scoring 📝

The athlete’s score will equal their heaviest successful lift.

 

 

1 rep max clean & jerk

Time cap 6 minutes for each pair (13 minutes) ⏱

The 2 women from each team will share one platform and have a total of 6 minutes for each woman to find a 1 rep max clean and jerk. One athlete lift’s at a time, in any order. Following a one-minute transition, the two men will have 6 minutes to lift in the same fashion.

 

Scoring 📝

These will be two separately scored events. The sum of the women’s heaviest successful lifts is the score for one event, and the sum of the men’s heaviest successful lifts is the score for another event.

Bar muscle ups (4 person sync)

Squat snatches (4 person sync) 61/43kg

Time cap: 8 minutes

This event begins with all four teammates on the starting mat. At the sound of the beep, they will move to the rig to perform 9 four-person synchro bar muscle ups with athletes showing clear synchronisation at the top of the rep. Once the 9 bar muscle ups have been completed, all four athletes will move forward to the barbells to begin performing 9 four-person synchro squat snatches. Squat snatches must be synced at the top of the rep with all four athletes being locked out and showing control at the top. Once the 9 squat snatches have been completed, one athlete must move down the lane to advance their chess piece to the next section.

Next the athletes will return to the rig to perform 7 synchro bar muscle ups, and then 7 synchro squat snatches before again moving the chess piece to the next section. Finally the team will perform 5 synchro bar muscle ups, and 5 synchro squat snatches before moving to the finish line. Time stops when all four athletes have reached the finish line.

Scoring:

Score equals the total time it takes for the team to complete the event.

This event begins with the athlete on the starting mat. At the sound of the beep, they will move forward to perform 30 power snatches, advancing the bar every 5 reps. On completion of the 30 snatches the athlete will move over the bar and run to the finish mat.

The athlete’s score is the total time it takes for them to complete the event.

Time cap 22 minutes

This event begins with the athlete on the starting mat. At the sound of the beep, athletes will move forward to run 2 kilometres on the Assault Air Runner, then ride 3 kilometres on the Concept 2 Bike, and row 1 kilometre on the Concept 2 Rower before moving to the finish line.


Scoring: The athlete’s score is the total time it takes for them to complete the event.

Order: MM/FF Time cap 22 minutes


This event will be performed as a waterfall relay. All four athletes begin on the starting mat. At the sound of the beep, both male athletes will move forward to the Assault Air Runner and run 1,000 meters. Once the monitors on both runners read 1,000 meters the male athletes will move forward to the Concept2 Bikes, at which time the female pair may move to the runners to perform their 1,000m run. The event will continue in this fashion with the women following the men through each station. The women may not move forward to the next piece of equipment until the men have cleared that station.


Monitors will not be reset in-between the male and female pairs. The female pair will simply pick up where the male pair left off. This means the women will have finished each station when… the runners read 2,000m, the bikes read 4,500 meters, and the rowers read 2,000 meters. The event is over when the female pair crosses the finish line.


Scoring: Score equals the total time it takes for the team to complete the event.

3 rounds for time of:

80ft Handstand walk

20 Toes to bar

80ft Kettlebell lunge 24/16kg

 

Time cap 12 minutes

 

This event begins with the athlete on the starting mat. At the sound of the beep, the athlete will move forward to the end of the lane and then handstand walk back towards the rig 80 feet. Next they will move to the rig to perform 20 toes to bar, and then lunge the kettlebell 80 feet back up their lane. Following the completion of the 80ft lunge the athlete will begin the next round. The athlete will continue in this fashion until three rounds have been completed. Time stops when the athlete has reached the finish line.

 

Scoring

The athlete’s score is the total time it takes for them to complete the event. The 80ft lane will be divided into five sections, with each section equalling one rep. In the event a team is time capped, one second will be added to their score for each rep not completed.

3 rounds for time of:

80ft Handstand walk

This event begins with the athlete on the starting mat. At the sound of the beep, athletes will move forward to run 2 kilometres on the Assault Air Runner, then ride 3 kilometres on the Concept 2 Bike, and row 1 kilometre on the Concept 2 Rower before moving to the finish line.

Order: MM/FF Time cap 22 minutes

 

This event will be performed as a waterfall relay. All four athletes begin on the starting mat. At the sound of the beep, both male athletes will move forward to the Assault Air Runner and run 1,000 meters. This event begins with the athlete on the starting mat. At the sound of the beep the athlete will move forward to the Rogue Echo bike and perform 30 calories for males or 25 for females. Once the monitor reads the required calories the athlete will move forward to perform 100 drag rope double unders, advancing every 50 reps. They will then move to the dumbbell to perform 50 dumbbell hang snatches advancing every 10 reps. Following the completion of the 50 dumbbell hang snatches the athlete will begin the next round. The athlete will continue in this fashion until two rounds have been completed. Time stops when the athlete has reached the finish line.

The athlete’s score is the total time it takes for them to complete the event.

Chest to bar pull-ups

15-12-9

Thrusters 61/43kg

 

Time cap: 7 minutes ⏱

This event begins with the athlete on the starting mat. At the sound of the beep, they will move forward to the rig to perform 30 chest to bar pull ups. Once all 30 chest to bar pull ups are complete, the athlete will move to the barbell to perform 15 thrusters. Following the completion of the fifteenth thruster, the athlete will advance their chess piece down the lane. Next they will return to the rig to perform 24 chest to bar pull ups, and then 12 thrusters, before again advancing their chess piece down the lane. Finally the athlete will perform 18 chest to bar pull ups, and 9 thrusters before moving over the bar and running to the finish line.

 

Scoring 📝

The athlete’s score is the total time it takes for them to complete the event.

30-24-18 reps for time of:

Worm Thruster

Burpees

Time cap 15 minutes ⏱

This event begins with all four athletes on the starting mat. At the sound of the beep, athletes will move forward and begin performing 30 worm thrusters. Next they will complete 30 synchro burpees over the worm. Once the 30 synchro worm burpees have been completed they will advance the worm to the next section before performing 24 thrusters, and then 24 synchro worm burpees. The team will then advance the worm one more time where they will perform 18 thrusters, and then 18 synchro worm burpees. Time stops when all four athletes have reached the finish line.

Scoring 📝

Score equals the total time it takes for the team to complete the event.

This event begins with the athlete on the starting mat. At the sound of the beep, they will move forward to the rig to perform 30 chest to bar pull ups. Once all 30 chest to bar pull ups are complete, the athlete will move to the barbell to perform 15 thrusters. Following the completion of the fifteenth thruster, the athlete will advance their chess piece down the lane. Next they will return to the rig to perform 24 chest to bar pull ups, and then 12 thrusters, before again advancing their chess piece down the lane. Finally the athlete will perform 18 chest to bar pull ups, and 9 thrusters before moving over the bar and running to the finish line.
