The Takeover Volume 3
About This Competition
The TEENS and KIDS are taking over CrossFit Lorton (again) in a PARTNER COMPETITION like no other.
Pairs may be M/M, F/F, or M/F. One partner MUST meet the age group standard. Partner 2 may be any age. EXPLORERS and RED TEAMS are required to have adult partners. Adult partners are recommended for WHITE TEAMS and BLUE TEAMS.
Workouts 1, 2, and 3 will be released PRIOR to the event. After the first event is completed, there are no substituations allowed. Substituations will be allowed up to the day of competition.
Divisions
- EXPLORERS: For our youngest CrossFit Kids and preschoolers. No age minimum. This division is participation only.
- RED TEAMS: For our new to CrossFit and younger competitors. Adult partners required.
- WHITE TEAMS: Been doing CrossFit Kids or Teens for a while? Check the standards and see if the WHITE division is for you. Adult partner recommended.
- BLUE TEAMS: This division is for our fire breathers! Expect to be challenged. Adult partners recommended.
Individual Registration
Athletes in need of a partner may register individually. Event coordinators will pair all individual athletes with an adult or another teen that needs a partner.
Standards
EXPLORERS, RED TEAMS, and WHITE TEAMS will have gender neutral standards (eg. males AND females will both use same weights). BLUE TEAMS and all adults will have male and female standard guidelines. Adult partners will mimic the standards of their Teen counterparts with the exception of load.
EXPLORERS: All movements will be accessible to ALL athletes.
RED TEAMS: Expect to see (but not limited to) jumping pull ups, 35# front squat, single unders or DB hops, 10# dumbbell.
WHITE TEAMS: Expect to see (but not limited to) pull ups, 65# front squat, single unders, 15# dumbbell.
BLUE TEAMS: Expect to see (but not limited to) chest to bar pull ups, 105/75# front squats, double unders, 35/20# dumbbell.

There are no refunds for this event.
Any registrations after 8MAR24 will not receive event shirts or signage.

Workouts
Workout One is a 12:00 EMOM. Athletes will rotate working minutes with a goal to accumulate as many shuffle sprints or bike calories as possible in the minute allowed. Each minute has a box get over and DB snatch buy in. Rep scheme is determined by division. The score for this workout is the total number of shuffle sprints or total number of calories accumulated.

Workout 2 is a 10:00 AMRAP that is all about staying in sync. Athletes complete 15 synchro burpees over a line. Teams then complete 20 synchro sit ups (toes to bar for Blue Teams). Athletes repeat the couplet until 10 minutes has elapsed.

*Synchro Burpees: Synchro is at the bottom of the burpee with chest and thighs clearly touching the ground. Athletes must be facing each other for the rep to count. Athletes will jump or step over the line after each repetition.
*Synchro Sit Ups: Athletes sit facing each other with their toes touching opposite ends of a 45# plate. The rep begins in the seated position. Both athletes lean back to touch their hands on the ground above their heads. Rep is counted when partners return to the seated position and high five each other with both hands.

45 Singles OR 60 DB Hopovers
Youth athletes will use 15# for front squats, partners will use 45/35#. Athletes may choose to do regular pull ups if desired.
BLUE TEAM kids will complete a MAX DISTANCE handstand walk. Athletes will have up to 2 attempts to log the furthest distance possible following a single kick up.
RED TEAM kids will complete a MAX EFFORT wall plank hold.
WHITE TEAM kids will complete a MAX EFFORT handstand held against the wall.
